The Brooklyn Nets (20-15) will host the Phoenix Suns (12-25) friday night at the Barclays Center. The Nets will look to extend their winning streak to five, which would tie a season high. And no better team to extend it on than the Suns who are 2-16 on the road and hold the second worst record in the Western Conference.
The Nets, unfortunately, are making more news off the court than on the court. Center Andray Blatche is at the center of an investigation surrounding a rape that apparently occured in his hotel room. Blatche had come to Brooklyn with red flags raised.
Only three months after being drafted by the Washington Wizards on September 25th, 2005, Blatche was shot in the chest in an attempted carjacking.
On August 2, 2007, Blatche was charged with sexual solicitation in Washington D.C. after soliciting sex from an undercover cop.
The move to bring Blatche to Brooklyn was made in large part by former coach Avery Johnson. Brooklyn was seemingly a place where Blatche could come to clear his slate of bring labeled a problem-player.
As far as the game, this is one of those games where Brooklyn should win with ease. They’re back home and riding a four-game winning streak. Phoenix is notoriously horrid on the road, and the Nets are 14-0 against teams under .500. Not only are the Nets on a winning streak, but their team effort against the Sixers was truly cohesive and impressive. Andray Blatche wasn’t phased by the police investigation putting up 20 points. Reggie Evans put up a career-high 23 rebounds and Deron Williams continued to play well leading the team with 22 points.
On a special note, Brooklyn native and high school legend Sebastian Telfair will make his first appearance at the Barclays Center for the Suns.

The Brooklyn Nets dropped their final five home games to the Phoenix Suns when they were based in New Jersey, but that streak seems poised to end.

The Suns have long been associated with the "Seven Seconds or Less" offense that Mike D'Antoni brought in when he was hired as head coach. That has become synonymous with the Suns.
Since D'Antoni was let go, there have been several coaches trying to bring a different tact and add a little defense to the team to get them over the top. It worked to some extent in...

With an ugly win over Phoenix last night, the Celtics are now back above .500. I expected this to happen. The Celtics won't go down. They didn't have a huge scorer last night, but I guess you could give that honor to Terry or Green.
Today's USOTN goes to the 12 steals recorded by the Celtics. The Celtics average just 8.7 steals per game, but seemed to just dominate...
On the one-year anniversary of his heart surgery, Jeff Green delighted Boston’s TD Banknorth Garden as he put on an individual slam-dunkathon against the Phoenix Suns. Inevitably, Jermaine O’Neal tried to get in his way. Jermaine, who’s been getting mashed on with increasing regularity since the late ’90s, was yet to appear on the wrong side of a poster this season, so...
The funny thing about this game is all the praise that the Celtics bench got. They actually outscored the starters for maybe the first time all year. Yet looking at the Suns fans comments, it seems like this has been happening all season. I guess their bench is just horrible. We'll have to see if the Celtics bench can consistently have games like this.
