The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night, 108-93. The Bucks controlled this one from the start. They took a 15 point lead in the first, and they never let the Bobcats make a serious run. The Bucks were without Udrih and Dunleavy again, but they got solid contributions from everyone, and actually looked like they found an identity with their lineup (despite Udrih and Dunleavy being out). Positives: The Rotation. Sanders, Udoh, and Daniels started with Jennings and Ellis. I like Illyasova off the bench, as he gets more opportunities in rythym with either Ellis or Jennings on the bench (because those two control the ball so much and are “volume” shooters.) Sanders and Daniels bring intensity and set a tone to start the game, and then they have some legit scoring threats off the bench with Illyasova and Mbah, and especially once Udrih and Dunleavy get back. Dalembert plays better off the bench also. The Bucks are actually a pretty deep team, and when they pass the ball rather than play as “volume shooters”, they can be hard to handle. The Bucks had 14 blocked shots, including Sanders sending one into the crowd. That sets a tone. Sanders is averaging about 5.7 blocks over the last 5 games or so. Negatives: Ellis’ shooting stroke still isn’t there – he shot 3-11 on the night. Everything seems forced. Observations: Illyasova seems to have his confidence back – finished with 21pt, 12reb. Mbah doesn’t seem to be having any issues with the knee. They are back to .500 at 9-9. Nets in Brooklyn on Sunday. If you haven’t seen a game in Brooklyn yet, wait til you see how shiny the floor is. I watched this Bucks game via NBA ticket, so I was watching the Charlotte broadcast. Two things to note – Michael Jordan is on every other commercial on their broadcast – not a surprise there. The other commercials are for the Lady Cats Swimsuit calendar show. I am convinced the LadyCats are probably top of the league in terms of dance team talent. More LadyCats below.
