Knicks Journal :
Though the Knicks’ offseason arrived much sooner than anyone could have hoped and/or anticipated, there’s no denying the biggest stars who don orange and blue enjoy embracing the Big Apple, its overall culture, as well as fashion during their free time.
The likes of Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler have all made their presences felt in the community, emerging as notable figures known for their stylistic influence.
With that in mind, both Anthony and Stoudemire attended the Met Gala on Monday night in New York City. They can be seen pictured here, posing with rapper Jermaine Dupri at an after party hosted by Rihanna.
And for what it’s worth, Anthony was widely teased for his choice of apparel, assuming the nickname of ”Mr. Monopoly.” Even if you don’t claim to know much about style and/or fashion, such a nickname doesn’t seem too flattering.

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and wife LaLa pose for a picture while attending the 2014 Met Gala. These two are a nice couple, but we’re not feeling the magician and his lovely assistant look. I wonder if Melo’s pocket flower squirts water. [Instagram] The post Carmelo Anthony Attends Met Gala Dressed as A Magician? (Picture) appeared first on Basketball Bicker.
As any major NBA fan would know, the New York Knicks disappointed many and underperformed this season resulting in them not making the playoffs.
Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is using this extra time off to have some fun by rubbing elbows with fellow rich and famous celebrities. Tonight, Carmelo and wife LaLa are attending the Met Gala which is annual fundraiser to benefit Metropolitan...
The Met Gala is one of the biggest annual celebrity events in New York City which benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The event is a regular who’s who affair from the celebrity world and at $25,000 per ticket, it’s an A-lister event.
Carmelo Anthony and his wife Lala also attended the soiree looking like wealthy industrialist and if Jay Gatsby were...
Let’s give the Knicks credit for something. Over the past few seasons, the team has done an excellent job of mining some pretty good mid-roster talent, all while having a rough cap situation because of the huge contracts to their “star” players. Often times this is through free agency or the D-League, and it’s even through the draft – something the Knicks often seem voluntarily...
All has been quiet in Starbury Land of late. While off in China winning championships and rebuilding his image, we haven’t heard much from the former beloved New Yorker, but today, Marbury finally broke his silence and offered his opinion on who the Knicks should hire to replace Mike Woodson.
Marbury set the Twittersphere on fire with this one. Derman Player? Umm…who? I tried...
The Houston Rockets should consider this season a failure after a first round exit to the Portland Trailblazers. That is no knock on the Trailblazers, who at one point this season looked like they could challenge for a one or two seed. When you have the best big man in the game on your roster and the best (offensive) two guard as well, you should be thinking conference finals at...
All has been quiet on Carmelo Anthony front for about a week or so, until now. ESPN’s Marc Stein did a mailbag on the Dallas Mavericks and their next moves after being eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs, and Stein reports that the Mavericks are interested in both Tyson Chandler and Carmelo Anthony. Stein says the […]
The Dallas Mavericks may be interested in trading for Tyson Chandler if the New York Knicks make him available.
The Mavericks' decision to let Chandler walk in free agency in 2011 after their title win has been one of the most controversial decisions of Mark Cuban's tenure as owner. The Mavericks were pessimistic about how Chandler would age during the contract, while also...
The Chicago Bulls are expected to be one of the top contenders to sign New York Knicks’ star forward Carmelo Anthony should he decide to opt out of the final year of his contract, which nearly everyone expects him to do.
The Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers are also expected to show heavy interest in Anthony.
The Lakers are also very interested in...
The Dallas Mavericks surprised everyone this season by making the playoffs, and taking the San Antonio Spurs to a game 7 during the first round.
ESPN’s Marc Stein is reporting that the Mavs will look to bolster their roster this by trying to get into the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes.
When it comes to Melo, meanwhile, what you hear is that the Mavs are quietly optimistic they will be...
Houston Rockets: Say No To Carmelo
By Mike Elworth: Owner and Publisher/Hoopstuff…
I wrote this same article for my Chicago Bulls, but it fits just as well, in fact, even more for the Houston Rockets. Carmelo Anthony is a very, poor fit for the Houston Rockets and they would be wise to ignore him in free agency and just say no.
The Rockets already have one star perimeter player...

The Dallas Mavericks are optimistic that they will have an opportunity to meet with Carmelo Anthony in free agency.
The Mavericks received a similar opportunity last offseason with Dwight Howard.
The Mavericks are already an elite offensive team and there's some fear that Anthony would represent too much overlap with Dirk Nowitzki.
Michael Carter-Williams has been named the 2013-14 NBA Rookie of the Year.
Victor Oladipo finished second, followed by Trey Burke.
Mason Plumlee, Tim Hardaway Jr., Gorgui Dieng, Steven Adams, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nick Calathes also received votes.
Steve Kerr, who has been connected to the New York Knicks job, voted Hardaway as Rookie of the Year.
With the second round of the 2014 NBA playoffs underway, we are happy to release the second episode of the Lottery Pick Problems podcast.
In this edition of the podcast, Ben Chew and Nathan Fink play a game of good cop-bad cop with topics important to the 2014 NBA Playoffs second round and question whether Carmelo Anthony is the best fit for the New York Knicks led by Phil Jackson...
