Found March 17, 2012 on Celtics Life:
Early season first half woes have seemed come back.  Struggling to score in the first half has led to awful results for Boston, as of late, as they lost another game tonight.  This time the Denver Nuggets walked away with a 98-91 victory at the Pepsi Center. Trying to play a different style of basketball never works.  This is what happened in Sacramento and is continuing tonight in Denver.  The Nuggets put up 29 first quarter points with Boston settling for jump shots.  This was another game with a deficit due to the same results.  Denver out rebounded the Celtics 19-7 in the first.  At times, it appears Kevin Garnett is boxing out two players while the other three roam free. The Celtics inconsistency has been their Achilles heel. The Celtics continued to get out hustled in the second quarter.  Without much help from the bench, the starters have been forced to play extended minutes.  Doc Rivers has been staying with his 8/9 man rotations throughout this road trip.  Paul Pi...

Paul Pierce ridiculously professional regarding trade rumors

Paul Pierce told reporters today he doesn’t mind that his name was mentioned in seven million trade possibilities this week. He even would have been okay with being traded, so long as the deal helped the Celtics. (Paul Flannery Twitter)“If it was something that was going to better the Boston Celtics in the long run, I’d have been happy for them.”“They’ve done a lot...

Who is the Celtics best on-ball defender?

ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg has an interesting post about Brandon Bass' adjustment to playing alongside the Big Four. In it, we learn that Bass is the team's best on-ball defender: Bass currently ranks as Boston's best overall on-ball defender. For the season, he's allowed a mere 0.658 points per play, ranking him in the 96th percentile among all NBA players...

Celtics F Pierce sprains ankle in loss to Kings

Boston Celtics veteran forward Paul Pierce isn't too concerned wih his sprained right ankle, which caused him to miss the remainder of the fourth quarter of Friday's lopsided loss to the Sacramento Kings. "It’s a little sore, I just twisted it at the end," Pierce told ESPN Boston. "It should be fine, though. We'll see how it goes. It's sore, but...

Celtics F Garnett joins two others in exclusive club

Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett joined an exclusive club during Saturday’s 98-91 loss to the Denver Nuggets.Garnett recorded his 5,000th career assist, placing him among 52 other players who have 5,000 assists, but also becoming just the third player to boast that total along with at least 20,000 points and 10,000 rebounds.Garnett, 36, joins Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar...

Statistically speaking, KG stands alone

Credit to Celtics radio announcer Sean Grande for pointing out that Kevin Garnett's 5000th career assist this weekend put him in some very exclusive company. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone are the only other two players in NBA history to total 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 5000 assists. If that was all we were reporting that would be pretty special in and of itself...

Kevin Garnett: Statistical Hercules

Boston Celtics GOD, Kevin Garnett, has entered into statistical perpetuity as he has stamped his name into the NBA history books as something NO OTHER NBA player has done. That’s right! The choker himself, Garnett, has achieved something quite remarkable, but before we get to the unimaginable, let’s discuss what record-breaking feats he accomplished mere weeks [...]

DeMarcus Cousins Stops Playing Defense To Call A Travel On Brandon Bass

Give DeMarcus Cousins and the rest of the Sacramento Kings a lot of credit.  Cousins came up with 20 points and 7 boards as his team not only ended Boston’s two-game road winning streak, but beat them by a whopping 25 points in the process.  Still, even in one of their finest performances of the season, DMC and the Kings managed to show signs of their lottery status.  All game...

C’s better by doing nothing?

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and all the same guys are still here.  I’d like to that Danny Ainge for listening to me.  Everybody’s main concern now about the Celtics is their lack of big men; Greg Stiemsma is the only active true center on the roster.  But recent numbers show it might not be as great a problem as people think.  Since the All-Star break Boston...

Celtics Live Blog: With Big Four Still Intact, C's Look to Continue Road Success in Sacramento

8 a.m. ET: Rajon Rondo will be walking through that door for the Celtics in Sacramento on Friday. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen will, too. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge chose not to break up Boston's core four at the NBA trade deadline. The Celtics will operate the rest of the season with more or less the same group that will take on the Kings...

Despite the team’s struggles and general managerDanny Ainges’ constant trade threats, the Boston Celtics were not able to pullthe trigger on any trades before the trade deadline on Thursday. That doesn’t mean that Boston’s management is happy with theroster as currently constructed, it just means that they didn’t receive anytrade offers they felt would make the team better...
