Found July 08, 2012 on Celtics Life:
ESPN is reporting that Doc Rivers met with free agent guard Courtney Lee. Sources told that the Celtics, in the wake of losing sharpshooter Ray Allen to the Miami Heat, have ratcheted up their pursuit of Lee as a possible replacement. Lee averaged 11.4 points per game for the Houston Rockets last season and hit 40 percent of his 3-point attempts. Lee is also a good defender and he's 26 years old, which is a plus. Lee is also 6'5" tall which would solve the Celtics need for a bigger shooting guard.   Doc is one of the Celtics best assets and if anyone can convince a player to come to Boston, it would be Doc. The Celtics don't have the cap room to make an offer that Lee would likely accept but Houston has made it known that they will work with teams via sign and trade for both Lee and Marcus Camby in order to at least get some assets back rather than lose both free agents outright. The Rockets are in need of a point guard after trading Kyle Lowry to ...

Doc Rivers does not agree with Ray Allen’s reasons for leaving Celtics for the Heat

Ray Allen for some reason thinks Celtics fans will be understanding of why he left Boston for Miami, but he’s wrong. The Celtics would not have won a championship four years ago without Allen, but the fact that he took less money to join the enemy when Boston is attempting to gear up for another title run has not gone over well with the fans.
