Chicago Bulls 74 - 79 Boston Celtics

E'Twaun Moore lit it up scoring 25 points 7 rebounds on 10 of 19 shooting. Even going 2 of 4 from 3. It was a breakout game for Moore who is looking to gain a guaranteed roster spot with Boston. Dionte Christmas continued his stellar play putting in 18 points on 6 of 11 shooting and 2 of 4 from 3. Jamar Smith came off the bench and chipped in 11 points making 3 3's. Sully only got 7 points but work hard on the glass collecting 14 boards.

More after the jump and videos!

Personal viewpoints...

- Sully didnt have a knockout game, but thats ok given the fact Moore and Dionte were hitting and he seemed more focused on showing off his rebounding. Which is something we Celtics fan know all too well we need.
- Moore looks so much better every game. I think he has a chance to be a pretty special player and if he is as hungry to get shot as he looks C's need to guarantee him.
- Melo played limited minutes off the bench scoring 5 points.
- Sean Williams was a DNP Coach.
- Joseph seems to have hurt his knee...according to ESPN he has a hyperextended left knee.
- Christmas is like Moore really making most of his SL. This guy deserves to be at the C's training camp.
- Jamar Smith is making the most of his minutes off the bench and has shown to be a really nice guard who can hit the deep ball. Training camp invite is guaranteed.
- This wasnt a high scoring game and certainly allowed Moore and Dionte to shine and has confirmed that a lot of these players are talented enough to contribute to the C's but there are not enough spots. Still as we continue to roll we have to be happy with the direction of our recruiting and scouting.
- Rebounding effort was a lot better...its like Sully read my post the other day! Anyway, SL C's have today off so lets see if we can better our 6-1 record.

Break up the Summer Celtics!

With another impressive performance, the Celtics improved to 6-1 with a 79-74 victory over the Chicago Bulls Tuesday Night at Cox Pavilion.

E’Twaun Moore and Dionte Christmas did most of the damage for the Celtics, as they continued their impressive summer league play. Moore looked incredibly comfortable and confident, even blocking a shot early third quarter.

Moore hit his first four shots to start the game, and connected on 10 of his 19 field goal attempts en route to his 25-point, seven-rebound night.

Boston Celtics Las Vegas Summer League observations, Day 1: Fab Melo reveals promise, upside

My apologies for a summer league recap that’s a day late and a few dozen dollars short, but I had a men’s league game in Springfield (an hour away from my house) last night for which I had to leave as soon as the Celtics game ended. I realize there might be one or two of you who actually value my opinions on Boston’s youngsters, and to you I am truly sorry — not just because...

Celtics' Options for Signing Courtney Lee Limited After Using Midlevel Exception to Sign Jason Terry

The Celtics have signed Jason Terry. Wait, you might say. This isn't news. Terry was introduced as a new member of the Celtics on Saturday, and reports of his acquisition leaked weeks ago. Way to be late to the party, dude. Well, Terry may have been an unofficial member of the Celtics for some time, but with president of basketball operations Danny Ainge telling reporters Tuesday...

Boston Celtics: And then there was… none?

The Celtics’ hope to find a quality sharp-shooting two guard to help replace Ray Allen and fill in for Avery Bradley as he recovers from shoulder surgery just got a little bleaker as two of Danny Ainge’s top free agent targets recently came off the market for the C’s.   On Monday night OJ Mayo, [...]

Video: Rajon Rondo interviewed by the French

We heard recently that Rondo was in Paris for the World Basketball Festival here's a short interview he gave with the french media. Notably Rondo thinks this team will have good chemistry. He seems excited that Jason Terry is on the team and that a lot of players from last year are returning. I also thought Rondo's response was funny when the french reporter asked if...

Video: A taste of Courtney Lee

Watch this video and tell me you aren't excited about having Courtney Lee on the Celtics? Rondo will bring out the best in his game. Got to give Ainge and Doc credit on this one. Credit Edwin Khu on the pic.

Report: Greg Stiemsma To Sign With The Minnesota Timberwolves

Greg Stiemsma was compared to Bill Russell last season by Celtics broadcaster and former player and coach Tom Heinsohn. He had some key moments when he played at that level, not that I can agree with the comparison. Stiemsma came out of nowhere to have a decent season considering he played on hobbled feet throughout [...]

Jermaine O'Neal wanted to score more in Boston

Boston Herald “I had a fantastic time in Boston, an unbelievable sports town, fans and organization. But it wasn’t necessarily the best fit basketball wise. Your comfort level is everything. Sometimes when you’re asked not to worry about some of the stronger parts of your game, which is scoring, and only [focus on] defense, that’s difficult to do.” Yeah, and you were also...

Houston to waive Moore, Johnson to demand a trade

As for JJJ’s trade demand, Steve Bulpett is hearing the “Rockets like him and will keep him.”  Second year guys who average 3.2 ppg in 8 mpg generally don’t have much say in where they play. For those hoping E’Twaun Moore resigns with the Celtics, forget it. CBA rules prevent him from resigning here for another year. John is out in Vegas covering the Celtics’ summer...

GIFs: Celtics-Bulls NBA Summer League

pic via Boston Celtics It’s been a while since I posted some pics & GIFs. Fortunately, my buddy HTT has put together a few from last night’s C’s-Bulls Summer League game in Vegas. The Celtics’ squad won again, 79-74 behind E’Twaun Moore’s 25 points. Here are a few GIFs from the game..

Boston Celtics Las Vegas Summer League observations, Game 2: Moore shots, fewer problems

Jay’s computer betrayed him in attempt to save him from the news of Kris Joseph’s injury (he’s fine; Kris I mean) so I’ll be handling the recap of last night’s Celtics-Bulls slugfest. The Celtics put on a clinic in the second quarter and jumped out to a 21-point lead, and then — just like the real life Celtics — they completely blew the lead in the second half. It...

Your Morning Dump… Where we probably shouldn’t expect Courtney Lee, either

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  It’s not like the Celtics don’t want to wrap up their roster renovation, it’s just that free agent guard Courtney Lee wisely listened to the advice of his agent, Dan Fegan, who told him to be patient...

Details of the Boston Celtics sign-and-trade for Courtney Lee have emerged, and, according to Steve Bulpett of The Boston Herald, the Celtics will part with E’Twaun Moore and Sean Williams, in addition to JaJuan Johnson. Celtics will send E'Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson, Sean Williams and 2nd rd pick in Courtney Lee trade. Those 3 won't play today.about 14 hours ago via...

Celtics Add Courtney Lee

Further healing themselves from the loss of Ray Allen, the Celtics stole sharpshooting wing Courtney Lee from the Houston Rockets on Thursday, further enhancing the profile on what has been a successful summer.
