Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton sat courtside and saw Dwayne Wade and LeBron James steal his "Superman pose" and a victory Wednesday night in Charlotte.
It was all set up for the Bobcats to win a big home game against the Miami Heat. The crowd was behind them. It was the largest home attendance for any Bobcats home game in history. The Bobcats jumped to an 11-0 lead. They led 60-45 at halftime. Dwayne Wade missed most of the 3rd period because of a foot injury. DJ Augustin, Kemba Walker, and Gerald Henderson played great. Even big men BJ Mullens and Bismack Biyombo made plays. Despite all of positives, the Bobcats lose a heart breaker to the Heat courtesy of a Dwayne Wade lay up with 2.9 seconds left. The Bobcats had a chance to win but a jumper by DJ Augustin was way off. While you have to give the Bobcats a lot of props and respect with the effort they showed there were a few things the Bobcats could have done to ensure a victory.
1. Kemba Walker should have been in the game for crunch time. Kemba was having an outstanding game and should have been on the floor. Corey Maggette did not have a good game and should not have been on the floor. Although he is a rookie, Kemba is arguably the first or second best player on the team and should have been on the floor.
2. Run out the clock. After a timeout, the Bobcats ran a very good play that resulted in a three pointer by Gerald Henderson. The problem is the Bobcats got the ball with 19 seconds left and scored with 12 seconds left and that is too much time for Miami, especially with Wade and LeBron James, who played and incredible game on both ends of the floor.
3. Play a zone and put Biyombo in the game. When the Heat got the ball after the Bobcats scored, they should have played a 2-3 zone and put Biyombo in the game. Biyombo had some nice blocks in the game and he would have been a good defensive presence. The night before, the Heat played the Boston Celtics and the Heat were killing the Celtics, but then switched to a zone and got back into the game and almost pulled out a win. The Bobcats didn’t play in a zone all night and that switch my have thrown the Heat off and given them a win. The Bobcats play at home against the Orlando Magic on Friday.
Charlotte Bobcats can’t take the Heat, lose by 1

The Miami Heat almost let one slip to the Charlotte Bobcats. The Heat staged a HUGE comeback DWade hit a HUGE basket, he gave Cam Newton his superman-touchdown move.
Was Cam popping trash at DWade and LeBron? That was totally planned right? Interesting! I’m already in LOVE with this NBA season. Yes, even with Lakers struggles.
Look for Panthers rookie Cam Newton to be a little extra motivated this week against the Saints after missing out on the Pro Bowl.
Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Eli Manning made the NFC team ahead of Newton.
Newton has combined for 34 touchdowns, while Manning has 27.
That said, there's a good chance Newton, a first alternate, will see action in the game if any of the other...
LeBron James celebrated his 27th birthday in style with another tight Miami victory. Dwyane Wade finished the job for a second straight game.
On Sunday at midnight, many of us will ring in the New Year singing “Auld Lang Syne.” But on Sunday at noon in the Superdome, I can assure you old acquaintances most certainly won’t be forgotten.
The Saints will face a Carolina team that they’ve not only come to know very well, but loathe very much. And with the Panthers rookie quarterback Cam Newton performing like...

The Miami Heat won at the buzzer last night thanks to D-Wade….the money man on the team. LeBron James led the way last night with 34 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals and 1 blocked shot. Chris Bosh also filled up the stat sheet with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Dwyane Wade pitched in with 19 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocked...
