The Clippers just did a video vignette honoring Chris Paul as “NBA Offensive Player of the Week.” Umm, that award does not exist. — Dave McMenamin (@mcten) April 5, 2012 That is so Clippers. We’re guessing they meant to say Chris Paul won “NBA Player of the Week” for games played through April 1 last week (Paul Pierce won the award in the Eastern Conference). Or maybe Dave McMenamin is mistaken, and the Clippers were honoring Chris Paul for most offensive play of the week — the one where he was stripped by Metta World Peace late in the game on Wednesday night.

DeAndre Jordan getting more involved on offense

In the early stages of the last few games, the Clippers have gone inside to center DeAndre Jordan and let him operate, with some success. But one of the main reasons for going to Jordan early is that he has been the defensive anchor for the team, and Coach Vinny Del Negro thinks it is only right to keep his man happy. "If DJ is going to cover everybody's back all the time...

Blake Griffin dunks over Pau Gasol on thunderous follow (Video)

Blake Griffin was at it again Wednesday doing what he does best: throwing down ridiculously fierce dunks. He scored the Clippers’ first points in their game against the Lakers by following a Randy Foye missed three with a dunk over Pau Gasol. Griffin just gets so high and dunks with so much power it’s embarrassing for other players. Video via The Big Lead

Clippers star Blake Griffin's tip dunk over Pau Gasol (Video)

The battle for Los Angeles in the basketball world happened tonight as the Lakers faced off against the Clippers at Staples Center. As you may figure, Clippers forward Blake Griffin dunking ability made an appearance on this tip-dunk that left Pau Gasol on the ground:

Eric Bledsoe & Isaiah Thomas Take Flight

In a game that featured DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, Terrence Williams, and a variety of other forwards with above-average leaping ability, who’d have thought it would be each team’s smallest player making it happen above the rim? Not often does a 6’1″ point guard time his leap so perfectly that he can two-hand a putback dunk, and even less frequently does a man 5’9″...

Blake Griffin posterizes Pau Gasol with monster dunk (Video)

In the last post, we featured Clippers star Blake Griffin dunking on Pau Gasol off of a missed shot but later in the same game, Griffin got Gasol again. Watch as Griffin soars over Gasol in the third quarter for the monster dunk:

Clippers Provide Highlights, Lakers Win Game

Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers definitely provided the highlights as Griffin pounded Pau Gasol on several dunks, but the Los Angeles Lakers walked away with the W. The lakers stopped the Clippers six game winning streak with a 113-108 victory Wednesday night in a LA showdown.   The Lakers at the top spot in the Pacific Division are now 2.5 games ahead of the Clippers...

Lakers outlast Clippers in Pacific showdown

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Andrew Bynum scored 36 points, Kobe Bryant added 31 and the first-place Los Angeles Lakers outlasted the Clippers 113-108 on Wednesday night, widening their Pacific Division lead to 2 games over the second-place Clippers and snapping their rival's winning streak at six games. By taking two out of three against their Staples Center co-tenants, the Lakers also...

So, uh, Pau Gasol was totally emasculated by Blake Griffin not once, but twice (video)

Since it has been covered extensively on the interwebs since the “Posterization Heard Around The World” occurred Wednesday evening, I won’t devote too much time to the egregious manner in which Blake Griffin metaphorically took Pau Gasol behind the woodshed during the tilt between the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers. But to not [...]

Lakers-Clippers Preview

The Los Angeles Lakers may be atop the Pacific Division, but the Los Angeles Clippers are surging behind their longest winning streak in two decades. The Clippers look to draw closer to the Lakers by winning the season series for the first time in 19 years on Wednesday night. The Lakers (34-20) have won 11 of 15 and lead the division by 1 1/2 games over the Clippers (32-21). However...

Enemy Chatter: The Celtics are a dirty, dirty team

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from San Antonio. Let me quickly say this; the Celtics are a dirty, dirty team. If they were lab-born, the DNA used most likely would have been Chris Paul's and John Stockton's. They utilize every...
