Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Great game by the Celtics. With both teams missing starting centers, they couldn't use Horford being out as an excuse. As much as they complained about the officiating, the fact is that they got more free throws than the Celtics. The refs let a lot of stuff go both ways. It's nice to know that they now know who Shavlik Randolph is. Enjoy today's comments....
Tolliver on the suddenly good Jeff green? This should be good
Confident we can compete and win. Celtics have been playing terribly lately and needed a buzzer beater to win against a d-league cavs team that is in tank mode. Only way I see us losing this game if we beat ourselves with mental mistakes.
I have a major distaste for Green
Gonna need Josh to play smart offensively tonight.
I assume that step back jumper doesn't fall under "smart"
Paul Pierce has to be the greatest out of shape looking player in history
I'm shocked that he still beats people to the rim
Old man game If you think about it, he and James Harden have very similar games
Why isn't Josh inside crashing the offensive glass?
You know Tolliver is a weak defender when Brandon Bass doesn't pull up for a jumper
Is Boston piping in fan noise?
The cheers of Boston fans pain me like the laughter of young children I just can’t stand it
It sounds like a playoff game in there
Ha Josh with 10 shots in quarter That is what I call playing hero ball. Quit that nonsence. Pass the ball around Most of them have been bad shots too
I can’t stand the Boston announcers crying about every foul that gets called on the Celtics
Teague on Bradley all day!!
Well at least the Celtics cheerleaders look nice
This is looking a little like a college game with all the short dudes out there.
Terrance Williams is still in the NBA? Oh.
Yeah, I know....who the hell is he
I seriously can't think of a team I hate more than the Celtics
Jenkins slight concussion out for rest of game
They're only slight when it's someone else's head
Had to have been that Pierce screen He looked wobbly getting up
No moving pick call to add insult to injury.
Paul Pierce gave Jenkins a concussion and did not get a foul called on him. FAIR AND BALANCED
It was a clean play
Faker fans would be talking about Karma.
Can Tommy Heinsohn just die...I seriously hate this guy more than anyone in basketball...loudmouth prick ahole..why won't nba package allow me to listen to rathbun nique...I hate everyone who is related in any way to the Celts...from Heinsohn to ainge to pierce to that Asian towel boy whose name I don't know.
Did I miss anything awesome? Seems like the point guards are playing well, and nobody else is.
You missed Josh taking 17 shots in a half
Josh Smith, Offensive Centerpiece And it seems it went as well as usual.
And Pierce gave Jenkins a concussion
That is one of the worst blown calls I've ever seen Pierce feel down and slid across the floor holding the ball. You have to call traveling.
Good job by the Celtics keeping us in this one for now.
We should nick-name Josh "gay pride." Because his jump-shot is such a rainbow.
We're continuing to let bad shooters take a lot of jump shots Where’s the interior game?
Playing in Utah His name is Al Jefferson
Getting closer, Josh, keep shooting! We’re almost scoring points now!
BS call in favor of Celtics Ivan didn’t even touch him
****** officiating is ******. And I’m sure the Celtics’ broadcast team is complainign about it the other way.
Are you f***ing serious Celtics announcers? I’m about to put this stream on mute
Refs are losing control of this game Bad calls against Hawks all over, and refs trying to give a fake call to Hawks to even it out.
There's no foul there, y'know he just knocked him down with his shoulder no biggie
Josh was tryign to shoot that ballb efore he caught it Way to be a liability as our “best” player.
Yes it is awful Celtics announcers....awful that you think that flop should have been an offensive foul
They're the most biased guys I've heard all year, TV or radio.
I want to spit in Pierce's food
We make a lot of marginal players look great
WHY THE HELL IS SHAVLIK RANDOLPH KILLING US ON THE OFFENSIVE BOARDS
What is a Shavlik Randolph?
The white blob that's winning the game for Boston
9 points and 13 rebounds for Shavlik Randolph in 18 minutes
Josh smith... Why are you so difficult to watch?
Mike Scott with a new career high of 13....Shelvin Mack has also tied his career high with 12
And just like that, it goes from a 6 point to an 11 point game.
I want to kneecap Larry Drew
If we come out of this time-out with the same five on the floor I’m going to type something in all caps
IF YOU CARE ABOUT WINNING THE GAME, WHY IS YOUR BEST PLAYER ON THE BENCH RIGHT NOW!? And I ain’t talking about employee number 5.
Pure luck on that Jeff Green three. It’s just not our night.
Why is this group in the game when we’re down 9
Maybe because drew has given up?
Josh got everybody benched
Jeff TEague deserves to be on the floor without having to share it with ball-hogging josh.
So I guess Celtics refs really are bad
Smith has taken 4 shots from just inside the 3pt arc, 3 in the 3rd. From JUST inside the arc. It's like he's trying to prove a point. Man, he really needs somebody to stimulate his mind.
Nine years too late for that.
I really complain about the reffing, so I'm maybe the last guy who should respond; however, this is a trash team BOS has out on the court and they're getting way too much respect from the refs.
Now I want to punch Larry Drew
1-3 without Al Horford this season What’s our record in games Josh misses?
4-0....not saying we're better without Josh or anything.......
No, but I think it proves that of our two star bigs One of those is critical to the team’s success, and the other really is not
I doubt we’ll get homecourt advantage, we’re just not a consistent team
"If I win this game only using second and third unit guys, they'll have to resi--aw ****, we lost." - Larry Drew

Shavlik Randolph took a break from healing the blind and turning water into wine to join the NBA on NBC show with Hickman & Gilroy this morning.
The resulting 12 minutes was the type of “aw shucks, I’m just doing my job” kind of humbleness that just makes you want to introduce him to your daughter.
The best example is when he was asked about his personal journey. We all...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
But the idea that ShavlikRandolph would have such an impact seemed far-fetched last month when the 6-foot-10-inch forward joined the team after playing in China. After all, Randolph only became a Celtic to help...
The already battered Celtics could be without their captain against Minnesota Monday night.
According to ESPN's Chris Forsberg, Paul Pierce turned his ankle in the first quarter which forced him to sit out the final 13 minutes of the Celtics' 108-89 loss to the Knicks Sunday. Pierce was seen on the bench with an ice pack taped to his right ankle. From Forsberg's piece...
Entering this season many wondered about the role of Jeff Green! How would he play coming off of heart surgery! Would he get enough starts? Could he play at a high level? Would he fit in with the team? Was he worth that trade a few years ago? Well these past few weeks….Jeff Green seems to have answered all those questions with an exclamation point!
First he scored a whopping 42...
Jeff Green made an improbable layup as time expired Wednesday to give Boston a 93-92 win over Cleveland on the road. It was the kind of euphoric moment kids dream about and was certainly a big moment for Green, as it would any other player.
His Celtics earned a key win late in the season with Playoff races tightening up and it was a great moment for a young player to have the...
Next Impulse Sports:
Jeff Green hit a buzzer beater in Cleveland on Wednesday night to lift the Celtics to a 93-92 win, and following the winner he hugged a man who saved his life a little over a year ago. Dr. Lars Svensson was the recipient of a hug, and a well deserved one, as he performed open heart surgery on Jeff last year to mend an aortic aneurysm.

The Boston Celtics teamed up with the Massachusetts State Lottery to give six lucky Celtics fans the chance to play HORSE with Paul Pierce at the team practice facility.
Pierce won the competition, despite only getting to the letter "O", but a good time was had by all.

Knicks 108, Celtics 89
For the second time this week, the Celtics (38-35) were unable to compete with a team that now owns the longest streak in the NBA. The Knicks (46-26) won their eighth straight on Sunday night as they steamrolled through a porous C’s defense. Boston played well enough on the offensive end, but Without Kevin Garnett in the lineup, they were simply unable to...
Paul Pierce had 20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds, and Jeff Green scored 27 points to carry the Boston Celtics to a 118-107 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
Jason Terry was 5 of 7 on 3-pointers and finished with 24 points for Boston, which won its second straight following a five-game losing streak.
Josh Smith led the Hawks with 18 points but shot just 7 of 23...
Melo and the Knicks punished Boston from 3-point range.Few things are as aggravating as hearing an opposing crowd chant “Bos-ton sucks,” but one thing that’s worse is knowing that they aren’t wrong. The Celtics, for lack of a better descriptor, sucked tonight. Aside from Jeff Green (and Chris Wilcox on two field goal attempts), no one shot above 50% from the field. The Celtics...
BOSTON — Courtney Lee, limited to six minutes of playing time in his first game back from a sprained ankle, hopped up exuberantly. Chris Wilcox, mostly confined to the bench after starting the game at center, waved his towel enthusiastically. Rajon Rondo, back on the bench for the first time in two months, clapped in his sportcoat.
All along the bench, the Celtics were having a...
In a show much of which was spent lambasting the Bruins and GM Peter Chiarelli for not being able to close a deal, (that’s a whole other topic) Michael Felger decided he needed to poke the Celtics as well, specifically Jeff Green, who hit the game winning shot the night before.
When anyone undergoes heart surgery, it’s a big deal. The issue Jeff Green (and Chris Wilcox) had last...
8 a.m. ET: The last team to beat the Celtics prior to their current two-game win streak was the Knicks. Jeff Green and company have a chance to change that Sunday.
In a special Easter edition of the NBA’s best traditional rivalry, the Celtics (38-34) and the Knicks (45-26) will face off at Madison Square Garden. This is the fourth and final meeting of the year between these teams...
After alternating wins and losses over a nine-game stretch, the Atlanta Hawks could get on a roll against the reeling Cleveland Cavaliers.
With Al Horford's status unknown, the Hawks try to make it two in a row Monday night as they host a Cavaliers team mired in a season-worst eight-game losing streak.
Sitting percentage points behind fifth-place Chicago and 1 1/2 games in...
I think it's safe to say that tonight was the best offensive performance for the Celtics in terms of both points scored and efficiency. In 48 minutes the Cs poured in 118 points and shot blistering percentages of 54 and 48% from the floor and downtown respectively. Unfortunately you can't say the same for their defense. The effort on that end of the floor was poor to say...
