Corey Brewer is one of those former Florida Gators we’ll never forget. A McDonald’s All-America out of Portland, TN, Brewer came to the University of Florida with high expectations and left meeting every one of them. Over the course of his three years with the Gators, Florida won two national championships and his recruiting class – the famed 04s – secured its place among the legends of UF athletics. Brewer would go on to be a lottery pick in the NBA Draft following his junior year at Florida. He would spend nearly four seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves before being traded to the New York Knicks. His time on the Knicks’ roster was short-lived and Brewer soon became a member of the Dallas Mavericks where he was a part of their 2010-11 NBA championship team. Just prior to the 2011-12 season, Brewer was traded to the Denver Nuggets where he became an important part of the roster almost immediately and quickly became a reliable part of a playoff-bound team.
