Taking a trip back in time, the NBA has given David Lee of the Golden State Warriors a flagrant foul for the elbow he threw hitting Dwight Howard.  The elbow resulted in Howard getting stitches, and he was none too happy about it.  During the game, a flagrant foul was not called, but the NBA reviewed things and decided to assess the could retroactively.David Lee's elbow that led to three stitches in Dwight's mouth has resulted in NBA assessing retroactive flagrant-1 on Lee.— KEVIN DING (@KevinDing) March 28, 2013Howard received three stitches for the foul, and Lee now has another flagrant to add to this season.  The reason a retroactive flagrant foul is so important is because of the NBA's limit for flagrant fouls.  Too many, and you get suspended.  It's a way of policing the intentional fouls on the court outside of just game fouls. As for Lee, he wasn't even called for anything during the game.  Howard was.  And Howard ended up with a technical because he made sure to jaw with Lee and the referees.  Thank goodness for video replay, huh?  Too bad, they can't review things quickly enough in-game to allow for replay on foul calls…too much?Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");

Golden State Warriors: Jarrett Jack for Sixth Man Of The Year

A few weeks ago, I personally wrote that Jarrett Jack, of the Golden State Warriors, is firmly in second place for the Sixth Man of the Year Award and that no one could reach Jamal Crawford this year. However, for once, I am admitting that I was wrong and that Jarrett Jack should be this year’s top backup. He brings much more to the table and other than scoring, Jack has far superior...

Keith Smart saves young fan from errant pass

Keith Smart is a former college and pro basketball player, and he showed on Wednesday that he still has the moves. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry tried throwing a pass to teammate Jarrett Jack, but it was way off the mark. The ball looked like it was going to head into the first row and hit a young boy wearing a Warriors jersey and jacket who was sitting courtside. Luckily...

Dwight Howard sounds like he’s planning payback for David Lee’s elbow

Leave it to the NBA’s biggest drama queen to stir up some drama after the Lakers’ should-have-been-more-embarrassing loss to the Warriors Monday night. First, the background. When David Lee went up for a lay-in, Dwight Howard took exception after Lee’s elbow caught him in the mouth and cut his lip. Unintentional or intentional, it’s hard to say. For whatever it’s worth...

Kings head coach Keith Smart intercepts errant pass before it drills kid (video)

The near and distant future of the Sacramento Kings franchise may be up in the air at the moment, but one thing that is not up for debate is how Keith Smart, the team’s head coach, is a hero of sorts as well as a staunch protector of children. During Sacramento’s game against the Golden State Warriors at Oakland’s ORACLE Arena on Wednesday, Smart snatched an errant pass from...

Kings 105, Warriors 98

If the Golden State Warriors can hold on and make the playoffs, they'll be thankful the Sacramento Kings are not standing in their way. Isaiah Thomas had 31 points and seven assists, DeMarcus Cousins scored 14 points and the Kings put another dent in Golden State's playoff chase by beating the Warriors 105-98 on Wednesday night. Sacramento, which entered the game an NBA...

Dwight Howard Suggests Payback For David Lee’s Shot To His Mouth

The Lakers host the Warriors on April 12th and Dwight Howard may be seeking revenge for being elbowed in the mouth by David Lee during the second quarter of Monday night’s game at Oracle Arena. Howard received a personal foul, three stitches, and a technical foul for jawing at Lee after the play, and Howard hinted at retaliation postgame. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo...

Dwight Howard Suggest He Will Payback David Lee For Elbowing Him in The Face

Players don’t respect Dwight Howard, so I don’t think Lee will be shaking in his boots. Dwight needs to man up from time to time, so people just don’t run over him. He took a pretty good shot from Lee and here is what he had to say after the game. “He got away with a shot,” Howard said, according to Yahoo! Sports. “I will remember this game. I will remember that shot...

Lakers' Metta World Peace out 6 weeks with knee injury

In the latest blow to the Lakers difficult season, forward Metta World Peace will have surgery tomorrow for a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee.  World Peace injured his knee in Monday night’s ugly road loss to the Golden State Warriors. World Peace has been one of the few consistent bright spots for Los Angeles this year, averaging 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.70 steals...
