PLAYERS: Delonte West
TEAMS: Dallas Mavericks
Alright, things just got really weird. Delonte West vented late Saturday saying he was banned from the White House. He was really hurt about it too. Then later that night he melted down over Twitter. I figured it was a little strange that West would have been banned from the White House considering all the other athletes with criminal pasts who had been there, but who am I to challenge West’s word? Turns out someone from the White House is either doing damage control, or Delonte was lying. Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan told the the media that West could have taken part. A team spokeswoman, Sarah Melton, also said West was not banned from the White House ceremony. So there you go. I’m really guessing that West wasn’t banned and he just went on a rant for his own purposes. Maybe he’s just been feeling down lately and is seeing the world as if everyone is against him. If that’s the case, I hope he’s getting some counseling and advice. Chest bump to Off the Bench

Fans drinking on the Mavericks' bench

It’s nearly impossible to tell when all 65 Fox affiliates are showing live basketball anymore because they don’t put ‘live’ in the upper right corner so we thought this was some replay of Mavs-Pistons. It’s actually ‘live’ tonight and we just happened to be 65 channels beyond where our normal surfing ends. Not even five minutes after turning it to the game, we came...

Delonte West banned from the White House

The highlight for many athletes when winning a championship is the visit to the White House and meeting the President, but Delonte West will not be traveling with the Dallas Mavericks to meet President Obama because of weapons charges and is banned from the White House. West pleased guilty to weapons and traffic charges when he was pulled over in 2009, and police found three guns...

Delonte West Is Banned From The White House, Goes On Epic Twitter Rant

The Dallas Mavericks are set to visit the White House on Monday but sadly teammate Delonte West will be unable to attend. Why you may ask? West's previous weapons charges will prevent him from entering the oval office as he told the Star-Telegram:“I’m banned from going to the White House, so I’m not going to make it,’’ West said after tonight’s 96-81 win over the New...

Delonte West is a good player that can help any team win. He needs to help himself out though. DELONTE WEST is mad at the media. He’s mad at his salary and at the atrocious start to this lockout shortened season for his Dallas Mavericks. And you can even say West is somewhat disappointed that he won’t be going to the White House to meet President Obama with the rest of the team...

(ESPN Boston) "I thought he’d definitely be back," said Pierce. "It’s hard to kind of develop chemistry when you bring a lot of new faces in each and every year. That...

Why is Delonte West so upset with Brian Windhorst?

Nobody seems to know what the Dallas reporter said to Delonte West that triggered the former Cavalier’s twitter rant of last Saturday, and nobody knows what former Plain Dealer Cavs beat writer Brian Windhorst did to draw West’s specific ire therein Not one of the tweets at issue, but still a good one. Larry Brown Sports has the details here, including a response from Windhorst...

Mavericks’ Delonte West: ‘I’m banned from going to the White House’

A Couple Of Beer-Swilling Guys With Beards Sat On The Mavericks' Bench Tonight In Detroit

At first glance, it looks like these two jokers kicking back with beers simply had seats at the end of the Dallas bench, but it soon becomes obvious they're actually seated between Delonte West and Vince Carter. It's tough to tell whether the best part of this is the video itself, complete with that terrific shot panning the Mavs bench until...

The Dallas Mavericks, at the expense of owner Mark Cuban, will be visiting the White House on Monday in honor of last season’s NBA Championship.
