PLAYERS: Deron Williams
TEAMS: Brooklyn Nets
Spirits may have been high in New Jersey when the Nets began the year with a win over the Wizards, but reality quickly set in on Tuesday night when they were demolished by the Hawks.  Following the 106-70 loss, an understandably frustrated Deron Williams spoke to reporters about the Nets’ flaws.  It is no secret that Williams wants New Jersey to bring in another superstar like Dwight Howard, but that’s no reason for Deron to create enemies among his current teammates.  His comments can certainly be seen as insulting if nothing else. “We need some more pieces,” Williams said according to Off the Dribble. “There’s no secret about that. There’s not many starters on our team right now. We have a lot of great role players, a lot of guys who know their job, but in this league you need some top-tier guys so you can get the job done.” Williams is right about the Nets needing more pieces, but I’m not sure he had to insult the other four starters on the team in order to make his point.  He’s o

Deron Williams and Dwight Howard playing in Dallas next season?

Could the Dallas Mavericks have a big three of their own next season? One current NBA players thinks so. New Jersey Nets star Deron Williams and Orlando Magic superman Dwight Howard are both free agents after this season. There is no chance Howard resigns in Orlando and Williams is still up in the air if he will resign with the Nets. Could these two players be playing...

Deron Williams already wants more players for the Nets

The New Jersey Nets are in a tight spot this season. After trading for star point guard and free-agent-to-be Deron Williams at last year's deadline, they now have this season to convince him that he should join them in their move to Brooklyn. Unfortunately for them, Brook Lopez, their second-best player and best trade asset, sustained a stress fracture in his foot last week...

McGrady: Mavs will land Howard, Williams

It's only been two games, but the Mavericks are already showing signs that not re-signing Tyson Chandler and J.J. Barea might be a decision that haunts Mark Cuban for a long time. After all, if Vince Carter, Lamar Odom and Delonte West don't meet expectations, Cuban will receive the bulk of the blame. Then again, if you believe in what former NBA superstar Tracy McGrady...

Dwight Howard and Deron Williams have dinner together, will definitely team up

After only a few games, it's become increasingly clear that the New Jersey Nets need help if they're a) ever going to be a serious contender and b) hold on to free agent Deron Williams this offseason. Luckily for them, the best player on the market, Dwight Howard, has shown interest in joining the team in Brooklyn next season. The problem for the franchise, of course, is...

Says he watched Tuesday's Nets game, didn't hear fans chanting his name

The Nets' Rough Starts

The New Jersey Nets have high hopes this season. With Deron Williams on board for a full year, New Jersey was thinking playoffs and probably a little bigger thanks to Dwight Howard making it known Brooklyn is his favored landing spot. Williams has all but told Billy King and Mikhail Prokhorov he will stay with the Nets if they can land Howard. New Jersey had a lot of work to do...

McGrady Apparently Is Nostradamus, Says Howard & Williams Will Be Mavs

Perhaps he was channeling the late Nostradamus, but Tracy McGrady has one bold prediction for the future of the Dallas Mavericks, Dwight Howard and Deron Williams. According to T-Mac, eventual free agents Howard and Williams will be wearing Mavericks uniforms. "D-Will is from Dallas," McGrady said. "You've got Dirk Nowitzki there. They're going to have [cap...

Magic, Howard roll over Nets

ORLANDO, Fla. — Dwight Howard of the Magic went to dinner with Deron Williams of the Nets Wednesday night. And then Howard had Williams and all of the Nets for lunch last night. “That’s the one guy you definitely don’t want to go up against in the paint,” said...
