Pass The Pill:
In the post-game after a 94-82 loss at the hand of the surging Boston Celtics, New Jersey Net star point guard Deron Williams was asked about the struggles of the Wizards’ John Wall, and Williams didn’t exactly have the best things to say about Wall’s supporting cast.
Colin Stephenson of the Newark Star-Ledger has the tweet:
Deron on John Wall: “He’s had a tough cast down there. I don’t want to put anybody down, but he’s not playing with the smartest guys.”

It’s not as if Deron is exactly breaking news here, but it is always interesting when you’ve built that sort of reputation as a team to the point that other players are coming out in the media to mention your incompetence. Deron has never been shy about expressing himself, and is always quite candid when answering questions. Mind you, he is saying this AFTER the Wizards traded away Javale Mcgee, who was always known for at least one “what in the world was he thinking?” play a game during his tenure with Washington.

Mikhail Prokhorov backed up his player after a diss in a Kanye West song claimed Humphries was lucky Jay-Z didn't cut him from the team.
Washington Wizards guard Roger Mason will have surgery Monday on an injured finger and will miss the rest of the season.
The Wizards said Sunday that Mason has an avulsion fracture in his left index finger.
Mason averaged 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds this season.
The team also signed forward James Singleton for the remainder of the season. Singleton was signed to a 10-day contract...
The Washington Wizards are not a good basketball team. They have a pretty good point guard, a bunch of shooters, a rookie with a hot Central European girlfriend and a guy named Trevor. I can appreciate all of these things. Still, they're not very good. They're so bad that they're likely going to get their second coach fired in less than a calender year. Randy...
The Washington Wizards have signed guard Morris Almond and waived Roger Mason Jr., who is out for the season after surgery on his broken left index finger.
Almond has played four seasons in the NBA Development League, averaging 24.5 points.
He was taken in the first round of the 2007 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz out of Rice University. Almond averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds...
Washington has had success recently with 10-day contracts. They have got very good production out of Cartier Martin and James Singleton, both of whom were signed to deals for the rest of the season.
Unfortunately, to the many fans of Roger Mason Jr., he underwent surgery to repair an injured finger and was released by the Wizards. This allowed Washington to open up another spot...
Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams were not in uniform for Monday's game between the teams due to injuries.
Wade was given the night off to rest his right ankle, which has given him problems throughout the season. The Heat are 11-1 this year without Wade in the starting lineup.

DeShawn Stevenson seldom dribbles. He takes non-three-point shots just about as infrequently (less than one per game). I’m not sure what got into him on the following play, but he actually elected to both. Watch as DeShawn put a stellar behind-the-back crossover/step-back move on Rajon Rondo, leaving a nimble set of ankles in need of a fresh tape job…
Will Smith has been a frequent courtside guest this season at 76′ers games. He and his son, Jaden were spotted Friday night when the Sixers took on the New Jersey Nets.
The final minutes of last night's YES Network broadcast of the Celtics-Nets game were complexing after play-by-play voice Ian Eagle inexplicably spoke (end sentence here?) his complaints to analyst Mike Fratello on-air. Eagle voiced his frustrations with the former coach, who is in his last few weeks with the New Jersey Nets. In other words, Eagle went the public stoning...
Kevin Seraphin had 21 points and 13 rebounds, John Wall scored 16 points, and the Washington Wizards beat the short-handed Chicago Bulls 87-84 on Monday night.
Richard Hamilton scored 22 points to lead the Bulls, who played without stars Derrick Rose and Luol Deng. Rose was out with a sore right foot as he missed his 24th game of the season, and Deng sat out due to sore right ribs...
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Luke Harangody had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Anthony Parker scored 15 points and Tristan Thompson added 14 to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 98-89 win over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams missed Monday night's game with injuries.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said that Wade was being given a day off as part of a maintenance program for a right ankle injury that has sidelined him a couple of times. The All-Star had 28 points and nine assists in a win over the Knicks on Sunday.
