Dirk Nowitzki passed “The Logo” Jerry West for 16th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list Tuesday night as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 105-95. Nowitzki came into the game needing 15 points to pass West, hitting the milestone at the one-minute mark of the third quarter. He finished the contest with 19 points and eight rebounds. The Hall of Fame 7-footer has averaged 22.6 points on an impressive 47.5/38/88 shooting line throughout his 15-year career. Nowitzki helped redefine the big man game with his deadly shooting, inspiring others to extend their range—or at least try to. When it comes to the jump shot, Dirk can do it all; spot-up, fadeaway, three-ball, free throw. Coincidentally, he also ranks 16th all time in free-throw percentage. Dirk will be remembered not only as the top-shooting big man in NBA history, but as one of the greatest shooters period. He needs just 82 points to surpass Pacers legend Reggie Miller for 15th all time. Nowitzki should accomplished that feat in the next 4-6 games. No. 17-14 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list 17. Jerry West – 25,192 points 16. Dirk Nowitzki – 25,197 points 15. Reggie Miller – 25,279 points 14. Kevin Garnett – 25,310 points The post Dirk Nowitzki Passes Jerry West for 16th All Time on NBA Scorers List appeared first on Basketball Bicker.
