Jason Kidd can never question whether or not Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is really his friend. It seems before Kidd decided to head to New York, he was set on staying with Dirk and getting the most that he could out of a return engagement with the Dallas Mavericks.

After missing out on Steve Nash, the Knicks shifted gears, turning to a more realistic "plan B" by signing Jason Kidd.Whether Kidd is acquired via a sign & trade with the Mavericks, or simply signed outright, remains to be seen. That said, New York expects to be able to bring in two worthy veterans (Kidd included) with the assets and exceptions they have available....
Have no fear: when Iman Shumpert returns from his knee injury in January, "Mobb Deep" will still be intact. The Knicks continued to make offseason strides on Monday, not only luring back old fan-favorite Marcus Camby, but also agreeing to deals with both Steve Novak and J.R. Smith. The team appeared to make re-signing both players (in addition to Jeremy Lin) a priority from...
Welcome back, Novak!
The Knicks have reportedly re-signed free agent Steve Novak following a season in New York during which he led the NBA in three point shooting percentage.
Novak had his best NBA season in 2011-12 averaging career highs in minutes per game (18.9), points (8.8) and rebounds (2.0). His 47% from beyond the arc was a key component to an improved Knicks team that desperately...
Steve Novak is returning to the New York Knicks with a four-year deal worth $15 million.
Novak's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said Monday the deal is a reward for a player who finally got his opportunity and took advantage of it. The Knicks claimed Novak after he was waived by San Antonio and he went on to lead the NBA in 3-point shooting at 47.2 percent.
Novak may not have been...
Donnie Nelson talked about the future Monday. Following a disastrous week for the Mavericks, he obviously didn't have much to be positive about.
The Mavericks president of basketball operations attempted to sound upbeat when talking about fielding a playoff contender for the upcoming season. But disappointment overshadowed all.
Not landing Deron Williams has left the Mavericks...
To see what not to do after winning an NBA title, take a look at the Dallas Mavericks. After besting the hated Heat in the 2011 Finals, the Mavs gutted their roster enough to have room to some acquire big-name free agents this summer, presumably Deron Williams and Dwight Howard, while still remaining competitive during the previous season.
Fast forward to the present: the Mavs had...
First off, ESPN the Magazine’s The Body Issue is just great marketing. That’s my opinion and debate for another day with any dissenters. For now, we’re just here to share that one of four athletes to be featured on various cover versions of the 2012 “Body Issue” is a familiar face for Knicks fans (note, we said the face is familiar).
Ladies and gentlemen, get...

Watch as Tyson Chandler talks about Mike Woodson’s extension and how it will give the Knicks stability:
J.R. Smith has a player option for the second season of his deal with the Knicks.
July 7: J.R. Smith was spotted at the Wynn in Las Vegas last night.
At first it seemed the Miami Heat were odds on favorites to land Marcus Camby, but as they used their MLE on Ray Allen — and other circumstances — the New York Knicks have become favorites. No one is more hopeful about the potential signing as Tyson Chandler as the team needs a solid back [...]
There are few things more amusing than seeing NBA players attempting to act and it appears that Dwight Howard/Carmelo Anthony will be part of one of the greatest Chinese sci-fi movies of all-time.The movie is called, "Amazing" and to keep the plot short and simple, it features Dwight and Carmelo in the fictional world of "The Sixth Sense" as a Chinese video game...
Here is the roster, which includes Toney Douglas, Jerome Jordan and Josh Harrellson -- three players who could all be involved in a trade for Jason Kidd or Marcus Camby. Jason Terry helped the Dallas Mavericks win their first ever NBA championship. Aside from Dirk Nowitzki (and probably Mark Cuban), he’s been the face of their franchise for the last decade. I wasn’t surprised that Dallas let him go to the Boston Celtics, they’re a team that needs to get younger rather than clinging to the past, but apparently Terry expected more of an effort...
