Found September 22, 2012 on Red's Army:
The agent for Keyon Dooling is refuting reports that his client is interested in joining the Miami Heat (courtesy ESPN Boston’s Chris Forsberg): “He’s comfortable with where he is right now,” Stevenson said Saturday. “It was his decision to step away.” Not the strongest denial in the world, but good enough for me. Keyon might take the next few months off and gauge interest come February and March. Sun Sentinel reporter Ira Winderman dropped a speculative tweet on Friday about Dooling and the Heat.

Your Morning Dump… Where Keyon Dooling wants to play for the Heat?

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  Former Magic G Keyon Dooling announced he was retiring — at least for a few minutes. Word is he’d be interested in joining the Heat. Who isn’t? … Orlando Sentinel I refuse to believe this rumor. Keyon...

Keyon Dooling’s agent refutes Miami Heat rumor, at least for now

Keyon Dooling’s agent refuted the rumor that his client is interested in signing with the Miami Heat… at least for the time being. (ESPN Boston)Dooling was born in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and there was some buzz that he might be interested in playing in nearby Miami if it allowed him to see his family more often. Stevenson said there’s no truth to that at the moment.“He’s...

Random Thoughts on Darko and Dooling

It was a busy day for the Celtics.   First they signed Darko Milicic and then they reported that Keyon Dooling has decided to retire.   The Darko signing came up quickly, but it wasn't really a surprise because there were rumors that Danny had called him when the Wolves first waived him.  The Dooling retirement came out of nowhere though. My first thought was whether...

Keyon Dooling waived by Celtics

It pains me to say this, but the entire flexing squad of last year (as pictured above) is no longer with the Celtics with the news that Keyon Dooling was waived by the Celtics today. First the news via Celtics.com:“Keyon has decided that he has given the NBA 12 good years and that it’s time to pursue other interests and spend more time with his family,” said Dooling’s...

Keyon Dooling, who announced his retirement, reportedly wants to play for the Miami Heat

When the Boston Celtics waived Jermaine O’Neal last season, he was rumored to have interest in joining the Miami Heat. Only one minor problem existed within that theory: O’Neal had suffered a season-ending injury and wasn’t well enough to return to the basketball court for the season’s remainder. So when noise arised that Keyon Dooling now has interest in joining the Heat...

Keyon Dooling Retires

Dooling was a solid role player during his career in the NBA. He did great work for Boston behind the arc last season. But now, $29mil later, it’s time for Dooling to move onto bigger and better things, like family. It was a fun 12 years Keyon, thanks.

Dooling confirms retirement, no interest in Heat

MIAMI So much for Keyon Dooling wanting to join the Miami Heat. The Orlando Sentinel had reported Saturday word was the point guard, who had been waived by Boston on Friday with the belief he would retire, had interest in the Heat. But the native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., denied that. "No truth!'' Dooling wrote in an email to FOX Sports Florida. "I will never...

Celtics looking to add another point guard

Boston Globe: The Celtics wanted Dooling to return because of his steadiness and veteran presence. Now they are seeking a replacement just a week before training camp. “We’ll miss Keyon’s spirit and energy, both on and off the court,” said Celtics president Danny Ainge said in a statement. Point guards on the free agent market include Derek Fisher, Jonny Flynn, Mike Bibby...

Celtics searching for veteran point guard

According to the Boston Globe the Celtics now find themselves seeking a veteran point-guard with the departure of Keyon Dooling:“Meanwhile, Dooling informed the Celtics of his plans to retire and the club is now left without a primary backup point guard to Rajon Rondo. Dooling had also emerged as Rondo’s mentor. The Celtics wanted Dooling to return because of his steadiness...

Ok, This is Weird

The Orlando Sentinel had this little tidbit tucked away inside an article on the upcoming Magic season: Former Magic G Keyon Dooling announced he was retiring — at least for a few minutes. Word is he'd be interested in joining the Heat. Who isn't? ... This raises some questions.  First, is this legit or just a figment of the writer's imagination?   If Keyon is...

The Miami Heat Want Boston’s Roster

First Ray Allen, now Miami is sniffin at the just recently retired Keyon Dooling. Is Dooling going to fall to the lures of Miami or stay retired? Keyon had the following to say to Fox Sports in repsonse to Miami: “No truth!…I will never play NBA ball again.” I’ve never seen a newly crowned team so desperate to steal away their competitor’s players. Maybe Miami knows something...

Keyon Dooling Retirement Adds Intrigue to Roster Spot Battle Between Dionte Christmas, Jamar Smith, Kris Joseph

With the days until training camp quickly thinning, first-year players Dionte Christmas, Jamar Smith and Kris Joseph reportedly planned to be civil to each other off the court, but brutally competitive on it. Christmas, Smith and Joseph looked to be vying for the 15th and final roster spot on the Celtics, and not even a friendship borne of a summer of workouts could lessen their...
