Found April 11, 2012 on Red's Army:
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Miami. Beyond the standings, though, the way they seem to be coming together has grabbed the league's attention. Already at the top of most of the defensive rankings because of their intensified focus, Tuesday the Celtics nailed 61 percent of their shots and 60 percent of their jump shots, all of it a product of ball and player movement that awed the Heat with its simplicity and execution.  The Heat found themselves going into timeouts shaking their heads. There was no lack of energy or focus this time, the flaw that has been a constant thorn in the second half of their season. For the most part, the Heat were playing really well. They just weren't good enough. Not a feeling they're used to and not a sensation they want against the Celtics, a team that they thought they'd buried after thei...

Robertson: James should finish plays inside

Oscar Robertson has great respect for LeBron James. He believes he's the leading candidate for MVP. He calls it "fair" that King James often is compared to the Big O. Then again, there's one comparison Robertson wouldn't make. "LeBron gravitates too much to the backcourt," Robertson said in phone interview about the Miami small forward. Wait a minute...

Jabari Parker Named Gatorade National Player Of The Year

Jabari Parker joins LeBron James, Greg Oden and Brandon Knight as the fourth non-senior to win the award.

Last chance at No. 1 seed when Heat visit Bulls

MIAMI -- If the Miami Heat want the No. 1 seed in the East, they better plan on winning Thursday night in Chicago. If not, they can start talking about how it really doesn't matter. Then again, they already are talking that way. "I was the No. 1 seed for two straight years in Cleveland and I keep telling you guys that we didn't win (the East)," Heat forward LeBron...

Dwyane Wade And LeBron James Do Not Support Fidel Castro

With 6 million or so sports blogs to choose from, we all have to get a little creative now and then to keep the ladies readers pleased and coming back for more, so it doesn’t ever surprise me when another site uses a misleading headline to get a few more clicks. Hell, I do it plenty, but I also trust that enough people know not to take it too seriously, because we’re closer...

Big O – Heat “needs to understand what it takes to win a championship.”

Another beloved NBA legend, that I admire tremendously, is Oscar Robertson. The great Big O was the only NBA player to have averaged a triple-double for an entire NBA Season (Yeah, THAT guy) and had some interesting words about the Miami Heat, their title contentions and LeBron James. “LeBron is a great athlete and he could be great [...]

Top Two Basketball Recruits Finally Commit

In a scene reminiscent of “<a title=""The Decision"" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTeCc8jy7FI">The Decision,” when LeBron James announced on national television he would be signing with the Miami Heat in free agency two summers ago, the two top recruits in the ESPNU100 have finally committed to colleges for the 2012-13 season. They...

‘I Touched Peskys Pole’ 100th Anniversary Fenway Brick

'I Touched Peskys Pole' A.B. This sums up how I feel about Red Sox ownership recently. They are so caught up with promoting the anniversary, selling coffee table books & bricks and expanding globally with the likes of Liverpool and Lebron James to pay attention to the details. And while there is no doubt John Henry has never touched a brick in his life and would not be...

Heat prepare to face surging Celtics at home

Tune into Sun Sports at 6:30 p.m. to watch the Miami Heat take on the Boston Celtics. NBA Heat territory. Much was made about the Boston Celtics' easy win over the Miami Heat just over a week ago. A repeat performance, however, could be hard to come by with the next matchup coming in South Beach. Surging Boston tries for an eighth win in 10 games Tuesday night against a Heat...

Heat-Bulls Preview

Coming off their worst defensive effort since LeBron James and Chris Bosh brought their talents to South Beach to join forces with Dwyane Wade, the Miami Heat need a victory for any realistic chance to claim the Eastern Conference's top seed. The Chicago Bulls have done quite well maintaining that position despite Derrick Rose being slowed by injuries as role players have consistently...

College Basketball Stars, Take Your Time

College Basketball Stars, Take Your TimeWhen LeBron James decided to skip college and go to straight to the NBA, it was obvious he was ready to be an elite player in the NBA and be the face of the franchise of the team that would end up drafting him. Can you say the same thing about a guy like Sebastian Telfair? Although he is still playing in the NBA, he never came close to being...

The Art of Research in Professional Sports

Games in professional sports are won between the lines. It is the players who have to come through on the field, court, or ice, but the preparation that is done before they start playing is what makes champions. Gone are the years in which teams could come to their games with some basic knowledge of their opponents and use their talents to will their teams to victory. It is now mandatory...

Bobcats-Heat Preview

The Miami Heat's bid to earn the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed took a major hit with a tough loss to the NBA's top team. They'll have a good chance to bounce back against the league's worst club. The Heat look to avoid their first three-game losing streak in three months by sending the visiting Charlotte Bobcats to their 15th consecutive defeat Friday night...
