The Boston Celtics have now played 7 games without Rajon Rondo and to EVERY ONES surprise they are 7-0.  They have defeated the Miami Heat, the Los Angeles Clippers, the new look Toronto Raptors, the Los Angeles Lakers and beat the Denver Nuggets last night in OT.  Paul Pierce took over last night and finished with a triple-double, his second during this 7 game stretch. Kevin Garnett has had 4 double-doubles and also added in a 13 point 9 rebound night against the Kings.  Jeff Green has taken full advantage of Jaredd Sullinger's absence and is averaging 15 points per game in the month of February.  Jason Terry had his first 20 points game of 2013 last night and is shooting 54% in February.  Continue to roll out the veterans and expecting solid results. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are really good basketball players.  They score lots of points and play great defense. The Toronto Raptors have adjusted nicely to Rudy Gay and are 3-2 since his acquisition.  Gay is averaging 23.4 and 6.4 while shooting just over 41%.  He is also adding 3 steals per game for fantasy owners.  DeMar DeRozan has not had to change his style of play and his statistics have not shifted in either directions.  The only negative so far is that his shooting percentage is under 40% for the month.  Continue to expect 15-20 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds per game from DeMar.  Kyle Lowry owners should be a bit disappointed in their guards play since acquiring Rudy Gay.  He is averaging under 10 shot attempts per game which has led to less than 10 points per game.  When Lowry was a dominate fantasy player for the Houston Rockets, he was shooting the ball about 12 times per game which led to 14-18 points.  The second he has a 3 or 4 game stretch of stat sheet filling, look to package him in a deal and get him off your team!  The injury risk is high and he is not producing much.  LET US KNOW WHAT YOU ARE OFFERED IN RETURN!After averaging just 4.8 assists for the month of January, Mike Conley has become a floor general again dishing out 7.4 dimes a night in February.  It seems he and Zach Randolph are back on the same page as ZBo is putting up 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds per contest.  Conley's total should/could see a boost soon if Marc Gasol can get his shooting touch back.  He has shot under 40% in 4 of the Memphis Grizzlies last 5 contests.  Gasol continues to help fantasy owners in the assist column with 4.6 per game in February.  As expected, Tayshaun Prince has not had to change his game and his fantasy value remains unchanged, that is to say, nothing special. It seems a fire has been lit under Jerryd Bayless (30% Yahoo, 67.5% ESPN, 63% CBS), since Rudy Gay was traded.  Bayless is adding 15 points off the bench for the Grizzlies and doing so by shooting 50% including 47% from downtown. It's a new Daye in Memphis for Austin.  He has seen minutes increase in 3 straight games while knocking down 6 3s.  Back to back games in double figures, and Austin Daye (1% Yahoo, 0% ESPN, 3% CBS has even provided 4 rebounds in each of the last two games.  He officially has more value than Ed Davis and Darrell Arthur.  That is until Quincy Pondexter proves healthy.  He returned last night but saw just 4 minutes.  Pondexter was playing over 20 minutes per game before a sprained MCL forced him to miss 5 weeks.  I don't think the Grizzlies can afford NOT to play Daye because of his ability to knock down the long ball. The Detroit Pistons will be without Andre Drummond for the next 4-6 weeks, after Drummond suffered a stress fracture in his back.  We were high on Drummond here, but let him and go and I would be very cautious adding him back to your roster once he returns "healthy."  Jonas Valanciunas (14% owned Yahoo, 14% ESPN, 42% CBS) is the man in Toronto again and the Raptors gave Aaron Gray just 2 minutes yesterday, even with Andrea Bargnani out.  If you can add JV, I advise doing so!Greg Monroe is just KILLING it right now.  One of We Talk Fantasy Sports favorite players, Monroe is averaging 19 points and 12.8 rebounds in February.  On top of the 54% shooting, he is adding over 3 assists per game too.  Jose Calderon has been exactly what the Detroit Pistons hoped for.  Shooting over 60% since his arrival Calderon is averaging 13.3 points and 7.5 assists.  Brandon Knight has struggled shooting the ball since the Rudy Gay trade and the shift to the shooting guard position.  Just 33% overall from the floor, but an abysmal 15% from downtown.  If you like Brandon Knight I suggest buying LOW right night as his value will never be lower and I fully expect him to step it up.Charlie Villanueva (7% Yahoo, 0% ESPN, 19% CBS) is back ya'll!  9 three pointers made in the last two game has led to 39 points and says to me that Charlie can help any fantasy owner looking for a shooters touch!  The UConn alum can score in bunches and isn't afraid to shoot the ball.Kyle Singler continues to knock down his shots, but is not shooting enough from downtown to warrant any fantasy value unless you are in the deepest of leagues.Jason Maxiell continues to play undeserved minutes and is the biggest waste of space on the basketball court. The Milwaukee Bucks have been blessed by Samuel Dalembert (46% Yahoo, 32% ESPN, 50% CBS) this past week.  3 straight double-doubles, 59 points, 35 rebounds and 10 blocks. As long as Larry Sanders remains out of the lineup, insert Dalembert!Points to AddDanny Green - SG, SF Spurs (53% owned Yahoo)Nate Robinson - PG, SG Bulls (52%)Robin Lopez - C Hornets (51%)Luke Ridnour - PG, SG Timberwolves (48%)Byron Mullens - PF, C Bobcats (46%)Randy Foye - PG, SG Jazz (46%)Samuel Dalembert - C Bucks (46%)Eric Bledsoe - PG, SG Clippers (42%)Jerryd Bayless - PG, SG Grizzlies (30%)Patrick Patterson - PF, C Rockets (28%)Gerald Henderson - SG, SF Bobcats (27%)Ben Gordon - SG Bobcats (21%)Rebounds to AddSpencer Hawes - PF, C 76ers (53%)Earl Clark - SF, PF Lakers (48%)Samuel Dalembert - C Bucks (46%)Lavoy Allen - PF, C 76ers (10%)Charlie Villanueva - PF Pistons (7%)3pts to AddDanny Green - SG, SF Spurs (53%)Nate Robinson - PG, SG Bulls (52%)Byron Mullens - PF, C Bobcats (46%)Randy Foye - PG, SG Jazz (46%)Jerryd Bayless - PG, SG Grizzlies (30%)Martell Webster - SG, SF Wizards (26%)Ben Gordon - SG Bobcats (21%)Jodie Meeks - SG Lakers (8%)Charlie Villanueva - PF Pistons (7%)John Lucas - PG Raptors (1%)Assits to AddNate Robinson - PG, SG Bulls (52%)Randy Foye - PG, SG Jazz (46%)Andre Miller - PG, SG Nuggets (43%)Eric Bledsoe - PG, SG Clippers (42%)Alexey Shved - PG, SG Timberwolves (14%)

The Great Debate: Rondo-less C's

Our Boston Celtics have not lost a game since the double OT loss in Atlanta on January 25th. It was the last game Rajon Rondo has played this season, and likely the last NBA game he will play until some point in the 2013-2014 NBA season. Seven straight wins. No Rajon Rondo (or Jared Sullinger). How has this been possible without our best player, and one of the best and most unique...

The Celtics: For Better or For Worse?

Let’s be honest. Right now, the Celtics are looking the best they have in a long time. They have won their last six games including an embarrassment of the Los Angeles Lakers. Why is this so significant? Because the Celtics are “Rondo-less”. Some are suggesting that the Celtics should trade Rondo, that they are fine without him. To these people, I say, “No.”. Don’t get...

Celtics on 7-game roll - even without Rondo

Things appeared pretty grim for the Boston Celtics just a few weeks ago. Rajon Rondo went down with a torn knee ligament, and the team's playoff hopes took a major hit. Paul Pierce had 27 points, 14 rebounds...

Paul Pierce and the Celtics have had a chance to show their toughness with Rondo out The Boston Celtics won their seventh straight game Sunday, this one a triple overtime epic against the Denver Nuggets. What Barbosa’s MRI Results Mean for the C’s

Boy, the Boston Celtics just can’t catch a break this year. They win six games in a row… only to lose their next six. Nuggets-Celtics Preview

Losing Rajon Rondo hasn't yet posed a problem for the Boston Celtics. That may change against the hottest team in the NBA - the Denver Nuggets. The Celtics attempt to win a seventh game in a row without their All-Star point guard Sunday night and prevent the Nuggets from a 10th straight victory. Just over two weeks ago, Boston (26-23) appeared to be headed in the wrong direction...

Report: Leandro Barbosa Out for the Rest of the 2013 Season

I bet you can't guess who tore his ACL this time!

The injuries are getting ridiculous... We basically already knew this after it happened, but now it's been confirmed somewhat. Leandro Barbosa tore his ACL. Your Morning Dump..Where The Celtics Are Faced With Adversity Again

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Welp, I really didn’t want to start this day off with doom and gloom for C’s fans, but obviously, the Barbosa injury is the big story, and only real “news”.  He’ll undergo an MRI this morning in Boston...

Celtics-Bobcats Preview

After cooling off the NBA's hottest team in their last game, the Boston Celtics will try to extend their winning streak against the team with the league's worst record. Boston (27-23) appeared...

The worst-case scenario for Leandro Barbosa‘s knee appears to have been confirmed. The Celtics guard, who came up lame during Monday’s loss in Charlotte, reportedly has torn the ACL in his left knee.
