Yep, you're reading the headlines correct. For the first time ever, the Bobcats defeated the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 101 to 97. It took some bonus time, but they did it. Kemba Walker and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led the way with 51 of the Bobcats points.Take the jump for a few more details. Fortunately, no one in my house was asleep during the Bobcats game tonight. I was in full Cats Crazy mode, on my feet, screaming at the TV, and calling plays, calling name it. I was telling my sons that the ball would go to Carter or Mayo...and it would...and the Bobcats would get the stop.So glad we got this victory. We are now 2-3 on the season, and this was a win coming in the 2nd game of a back-to-back, away-home game set.As far as blowing up the team in terms of positives and negatives, I can only say we need to work more on rebounding and defense. We squandered a lead in the 1st quarter, and slid to quite a deficit. Fortunately, our Bobcats kept their composu...

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist goes coast-to-coast for layup despite losing his shoe (Video)

Charlotte Bobcats rookie forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist made an impressive play in the fourth quarter of Saturday night's NBA game against the Dallas Mavericks by grabbing a defensive rebound and going coast-to-coast for a layup despite losing one of his shoes at halfcourt. Kidd-Gilchrist's play inspired the Bobcats to rally from an 8-point deficit with 4:18 left to...

MKG goes coast-to-coast with one shoe

I have been aboard the Michael Kidd-Gilchrist train for a while now, to the extent that I picked him to be the rookie of the year over his former Wildcat teammate, Anthony “The Brow” Davis, before the season. That proclamation may be premature, and may not come to fruition, but that doesn’t mean the kid won’t be special. Special players make special plays, and this possession...

Video: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist loses sneaker, scores anyway

Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist helped guide his team to a 101-97 OT victory over the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist goes coast-to-coast and scores and-one with one sneaker

Former Kentucky star and current Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had quite the highlight last night against the Mavericks when he took it coast-to-coast, lost his sneaker, and then successfully converted an and-one. It’s still early, but MKG looks like a promising young talent and is averaging over 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal per game so far. [The Big Lead...

Bobcats beat Mavs for first time in team history

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats had never beaten the Dallas Mavericks in their nine-year history before Saturday night. Timberwolves-Mavericks Preview

The Dallas Mavericks are hoping some key injuries aren't finally catching up with them. The short-handed Minnesota Timberwolves are dealing with similar concerns as they travel to Dallas for a matchup of two banged-up clubs Monday night. After winning four of its first five games without star forward Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas (4-3) is coming off its second straight road defeat...
