One would think owning the best record in the Western Conference, having what can be arguably the deepest bench in all of the NBA, capturing another 50-win season, and owners of three double-digit winning streaks in a shortened season, the San Antonio Spurs would be the odds-on favorite to win the 2012 NBA title, right?
Well not according to Las Vegas oddsmakers who list the Spurs...
If Enes Kanter wasn’t a Jazz fan favorite before, he is now. The 19-year-old Turkish rookie has only played limited minutes this season, but the dude is hardcore. Oh yes. Kanter seemed to be pushed by his teammates to deliver a pregame speech to Jazz fans prior to the team’s game against Portland on Thursday, and he knocked it out of the park.
Kanter straight up grabbed the...
The San Antonio Spurs will begin their march to title number five this Sunday as they face the Utah Jazz in the first round and what is on Spurs fans minds is Utah's huge frontline with Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors and Al Jefferson.
It won't be the first time San Antonio's first round opponent has a size advantage. Last season the Grizzlies exposed the Spurs' weakness...
With 6:16 remaining in the game on Thursday evening in Golden State, the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors were tied at 95. Spurs guard Patty Mills would go on his own 6-0 run by draining back-to-back three pointers that would eventually lead to a 107-101 Spurs win.
Mills, who led the way with 34 points and 12 assists, guided the Spurs to an NBA record13th 50-win season...
I have watched an average amount of Enes Kanter this season, but I may just watch a heck of a lot more of the player after he gave this end of the year speech to the Utah Jazz fans. It was multiplied X amount of times because he did an ACTUAL mic drop. You don’t understand, [...]
On this episode of the WOAI-Project Spurs Spurs RoundTable, Michael De Leon, Paul Garcia, Humberto Cervera and myself break down the first round playoff series between the first-seeded San Antonio Spurs and eighth-seeded Utah Jazz.We break down each position and state which team has the advantage. Also on the show, we take a look back at the Spurs' regular season and talk about...
This is more than he did during his tenure at Kentucky. The Utah Jazz rookie finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. It was his most impressive performance of the season.
Patty Mills had career highs of 34 points and 12 assists, DeJuan Blair added 22 points and 13 rebounds, and the short-handed San Antonio Spurs beat the Golden State Warriors 107-101 on Thursday night.
James Anderson added 19 points for San Antonio (50-16), which finished with the best record in the Western Conference despite having one of the league's oldest rosters. The Spurs...
Rookie Alec Burks scored 18 points and NBA Slam Dunk champ Jeremy Evans led a 10-0 fourth-quarter run as the playoff-bound Utah Jazz beat the Portland Trail Blazers 96-94 Thursday night.
Utah finished the season on a five-game winning streak and will face top-seeded San Antonio in a first-round Western Conference matchup starting Sunday.
J.J. Hickson scored 20 points and Jonny...
Don't let people tell you that the San Antonio Spurs are old. It's a wives tale, urban legend, a myth. Sure, the perennial leaders of our team, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, are seeing the sun approach the horizon of their respective careers. But the Spurs are not old. With an average age of 27.29 the Spurs are the thirteenth oldest (and the eighteenth YOUNGEST) team in the...
The San Antonio Spurs spent the lockout-shortened regular season resisting the inevitable comparisons to the one in 1999, when they won their first of four championships.
But now that it's over?
''I guess if you look back and compare, yeah, it's a lot like that,'' Spurs forward Tim Duncan said Saturday. ''We hope it ends like that, too.''...
#1 San Antonio Spurs vs. #8 Utah Jazz
Despite their tremendous success, the Spurs have remained below the radar for the entire NBA season. Every analyst talks about the Heat, Bulls, and Thunder, but the Spurs never seem to get the respect they deserve. Coach Popovich has done a tremendous job of resting Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili, so expect the Spurs’ big three...
Mark Eaton still holds the NBA's single-season shot-blocking record and he had powerful dunks to match. Yet, there are times the retired Jazz defender sits in awe watching Utah second-year pro Derrick Favors.
''I did that once, but it was only a dream,'' Eaton said after seeing Favors' reverse jam in traffic against Orlando last week. ''He's still...

The Portland TrailBlazers season is finally coming to an end and it cannot come too soon since they have sputtered after the All Star break, lost their best player for the year, and they have dropped 6 in a row.
