Being a rookie coach doesn't mean Jason Kidd will fail

An NBA rookie coach being handed a team with expectations of going deep in the playoffs? It sounds like a difficult task. Actually, its been easier than one might think. Mike Dunleavy went to the NBA Finals in his first year with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1990-91. Indiana's Larry Bird was Coach of the Year as a rookie on the bench in 1997-98 and got to the Eastern Conference...

Jason Kidd has never coached at any level. He has no known system, no video of a practice or game that provides any hints about what type of player would fit his style. Brooklyn Jets, Doc Ditches Boston, and Other NBA Coaching Madness

I consider my initial decision to hold off on writing about the whole Jason Kidd-Nets debacle my second savviest move of the past few months (No. 1? Buying senior citizen tickets at the movies. You get caught like 2% of the time and you just have to get it swapped for an adult. Tickets are 14 bucks in New York, no way am I paying full price). Weird things happen in clusters in the...

Yes, that Jason Collins; the same guy that announced in May he was gay. Reception to his admission was met with mostly positive reactions from people inside

Kidd and Williams contacted KG on trade

New members of the Brooklyn Nets organization When the Celtics attempted to trade Kevin Garnett to the Los Angeles Clippers before the trade deadline for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe, KG refused to waive the No Trade Clause in his contact with Boston. Around the same time of the season Garnett teased the media that he would retire at seasons end, undoubtedly because he wanted...
