Wednesday night the Golden State Warriors opened up their season at home verses the Los Angeles Lakers. The Warriors were in control for virtually the entire game and walked away with a 124-95 win. The Warriors played a great team game from start to finish. Klay Thompson was on fire on his way to a career high 38 points on 15 of 19 shooting. David Lee also had a good opening night with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Overall, the offense shared the ball well as they had 34 assists on 46 made baskets The Warriors also played good man-to-man defense holding the Lakers to only 39.3% shooting. The Warriors also shot the basketball 10% better than the Lakers and got 9 more rebounds. It was an overall dominant performance to start the season by the Warriors. The Los Angeles Lakers looked like they cannot wait for Kobe to come back. They just looked flat on both sides of the basketball as they allowed 96 points through 3 quarters. The Lakers had seven players score in double digits but no one over 14 points. On the second night of a back-to-back Pau had 14 points and 7 boards. Jodie Meeks added another 12 points off the bench. The Lakers just never go into any type of rhythm and it showed in the final score. The Warriors ultimately were just too much for a Lakers team without its best player. I am not as down on the Lakers like everyone else is. I think they will compete for an 8th spot this season. As for the Warriors, it was a great start to the season and it will be interesting to see how they play against the Clippers in the final game of a back to back.   Follow Me On Twitter: @JOnTheSidelines The post Golden State Warriors VS Los Angeles Lakers Recap appeared first on UTSN - The Universal Takeover Sports Network.
