The Dallas Mavericks made a
series of moves that we are late in breaking down. Dallas is still on a championship hangover it seems. Last year they lost Tyson Chandler and
this year, they lose Jason Kidd and Jason Terry, leaving Dirk all by himself
basically. Mark Cuban and the Mavs
were left with picking up scraps in Elton Brand (amnesty claused by
Philadelphia) and Chris Kaman (free agent) as well as making the highest bid
for OJ Mayo, the only player fairly young. The gang breaks it down.
This is what you are suppose
to do when you have recently won a title, have a payroll and still have a top
ten player in Dirk Nowitzki. I
give them a C because that is what all average kids in life get. Dallas is no different here, they could
have done worse and they could have done better. I like that OJ Mayo has that opportunity to be a leading
scorer for a playoff team, a player many believe (not me) that he can be. Elton Brand is going to ...

Last week, fans of the Dallas Mavericks were crying in their beer, while singing that old standard, “They’re Breaking Up That Old Gang Of Mine.” On Monday however, optimism started seeping into “BIG D” and the fans started changing their tune, to The Beatles classic “Getting Better,” as the “Star-Telegram” reported that the former NBA Champs, have reached an agreement...
OJ Mayo made his announcement via Twitter Monday night. Mayo is moving on the Grizzlies, the team that originally drafted him to the Dallas Mavericks who’re looking to reload after a disappointing season following their 2011 NBA championship. The Mavericks have quietly made nice moves this offseason. In addition to the Mayo signing, the new [...]
Swingman OJ Mayo has signed a multi-year with the Dallas Mavericks. Not that he was going to join the Pacers anyway, but this has officially put the dreams to sleep, so to speak.Mayo was almost in a Pacers uniform a couple of times in the past, but the Josh McRoberts trade supposedly fell apart at the last second. Then the Pacers didn't re-sign McBob and didn't pull enough...
OJ Mayo, one of the more touted free agents left on the market, has chosen his destination for the future, and will be signing with the Dallas Mavericks. Taking a page out of Deron Williams’ book, Mayo took to his twitter account to announce his much anticipated decision:

The Dallas Mavericks didn't land their top targets in free agency, but they've overhauled their roster with quality players at nearly every position. The latest newcomer -- shooting guard O.J. Mayo -- agreed to a two-year contract late Monday and joins point guard Darren Collison, power forward Elton Brandon, center Chris Kaman and shooting guard Dahntay Jones on the new...

(Photo Credit: Stephen Dunn/Getty Images) All I can say is, it’s about time. It seems that the Mavericks and shooting guard O.J. Mayo have agreed to a two year deal, with the second year being a player option. The Mavericks have 4$ million left in cap space this season, and I think it’s safe to [...]
Chris Kaman, who has become a must-follow on Twitter due to his affinity for posting photos of dead "muskrats," among other reasons, defended his honor via social media on Monday night. The veteran NBA center responded to a comment made on Twitter by sports personality Bill Simmons last week, when Simmons mocked the Dallas Mavericks for signing Kaman, 30, and claiming Elton...
Winning championships, that is what the goal should be. The Sixers who have been active this off-season have cleared much cap space by letting Elton Brand go ($18 million). When this move was announced, the dream began on who they would sign with this relief. What the Sixers have done with the new-found cap riches, sign plenty of role players.

Mark Cuban made some waves last weekend when he fired shots directly at ESPN Grantland columnist Bill Simmons. Simmons was not too crazy about Cuban's acquisition of Chris Kaman and Elton Brand and voiced that displeasure on Twitter. To which Cuban responded with some not-so-kind words.
They look kind and cordial after Kaman fired back at Simmons:
