Greg Oden’s role unlikely to expand

It’s been a long road to recovery for Miami Heat big man Greg Oden, who’s just happy to be on an NBA roster and playing. Granted, he’s not playing much, but some is better than nothing. And that’s something he likely needs to get comfortable with as Ira Winderman doesn’t believe Oden’s role will expand much moving forward. But let’s also be realistic: It remains...

CC video of the day: Greg Oden posterizes Tim Duncan

Miami's Greg Oden's history of injuries is well chronicled so I won't go into it here but if there was any way to make a splash on the court as he slowly returns from injury, dunking on the greatest power forward of all-time would be the way to do it. During the recent Spurs-Heat game, Oden found himself with the ball and being defended by Tim Duncan. What happened...

Greg Oden wasn't sure he'd ever return to NBA

Greg Oden admits it: He considered retiring before he turned 25. He, too, wondered if his ongoing knee problems would allow him to play basketball again. But there was Oden on Thursday night, back on the floor, playing for the Miami Heat in a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, his fourth game this season after a four-year layoff. "It was a long four years," Oden said...

The Miami Heat defeated  the San Antonio Spurs in their first meeting since Game 7 of the NBA Finals last season, by the score of 113-101.  The win improved the Heat's record to 32-12, first in the Southeast Division.   Heat backup center Greg Oden had three points, two rebounds, a steal and a block in 13 minutes. While those numbers are modest, there was a moment which clearly...

Video: Greg Oden throws one down on Tim Duncan

It’s been a long road for former No. 1 pick Greg Oden, but he’s starting to get some playing time for the NBA Champion Miami Heat. Oden received a great feed from Dwyane Wade, and slams it over another former top pick, albeit one whose career has turned out a bit differently, Tim Duncan: It’s hard to root against someone like Oden, who has had his promising career completely...

Tim Duncan had 17 points and 16 rebounds in another dominant performance against Atlanta and the San Antonio Spurs coasted to a 105-79 win over the short-handed Hawks on Friday night. Duncan, who blocked four shots, and point guard Tony Parker didn't return after leaving the game with the Spurs leading 77-50 late in the third quarter. The Spurs used backup players in the fourth...

‘Everything’s been good’ with Miami Heat center Greg Oden

Miami Heat center Greg Oden will play Sunday versus the San Antonio Spurs. The 25-year-old Oden, who signed a one-year deal with the Heat in August, has been doing individual workouts and “everything’s been good.” After the Heat used the amnesty provision on Mike Miller, the 7-foot, 285 pound Oden chose Miami over the Spurs, Kings, Mavs and Pelicans. The former Buckeye, a recovering...

There's not much to breakdown from the win tonight, and it's Friday night, so let's make this quick and see what else is going on tonight. The Spurs completely dominated this game. Just a simple glance at a basic box-score would show you much of what you needed to know about the game...
