The once-promising season of the Minnesota Timberwolves is spiraling out of control courtesy of injuries that have decimated the roster. The T’Wolves are now sitting at 16-20 after dropping its fifth-straight game on Thursday night, losing to the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 90-77. Adding injury to injury, two more Timberwolves players limped off the Target Center court on Thursday. Added to the walking wounded: center Nikola Peković and guard Alexey Shved, meaning that the Wolves essentially have more players nursing injuries and recovering from surgeries than they have healthy bodies. Not good. Rubio is still easing his way back into regular minutes and achieved another milestone against the Clippers as he was inserted into the starting lineup. But an awful play by the Spaniard during the contest symbolizes just how bad things are getting for the Timberwolves. Late in the second quarter, the Wolves turned a Clippers turnover into a fast break opportunity. With Luke Ridnour leading the way, the ball moved from the point guard to Peković, who dropped the ball off to Rubio, sitting all alone underneath the basket. And then…derp. Rubio completely whiffed. Yep, without a doubt more than good enough for inclusion in “Shaqtin’ a Fool.” I guess that means Ricky Rubio and I have a lot more in common than both being looked upon as quite the cutie by the ladies. Well, that and we both still are trying to master the English language. TweetThe post Hay caramba!
