It seems like just yesterday the Miami Heat were securing their second successive NBA Championship, but already the start of the 2013/14 season is upon us, with Miami, Indiana and the L.A. Lakers securing wins. Lebron, Wade and Bosh helped open the season with a win after their ring ceremony (Courtesy DontHateMiami) The opener saw Indiana beat the Orlando Magic 97-87, with Paul George again at the heart of the Pacers performance, scoring 24 and grabbing six rebounds. Miami were next up in the highly anticipated match-up against the Chicago Bulls, who also welcomed back Derrick Rose. But it didn’t prove the former MVP Rose’s best day, as Miami cruised by the Bulls in style, eventually winning 107-95, with seven players scoring in double figures for the Heat. Finally it was the battle of Los Angeles, as the Lakers hosted the Clippers, and to most peoples surprise the Lakers came out on top with a huge effort from the bench. The Lakers benched amassed 76 points, and scored every point in the final quarter, (all 41 of them). The Clippers clearly weren’t firing on all cylinders and struggled, but the result still proved the shock of the night.
