With less than a week until the start of training camp the Miami Heat continue to work through roster possibilities with veteran guard Roger Mason Jr. the latest to emerge on the team's workout list. Even with 13 players under guaranteed contract for 2013-14 and with 18 players already invited to camp the Heat continue to audition candidates with journeyman guard Von Wafer among those at recent sessions. Mason Jr. 33 who recently was elected vice president of the NBA's player union remains a free agent after spending last season in New Orleans. Teams can carry up to 20 players during camp but must reduce to between 13 and 15 by the starting of the regular season which opens Oct. 29 for the Heat against the Chicago Bulls at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Miami Heat are heading to the Bahamas for training camp because why not?

If any so-called NBA experts have expressed any concern that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the rest of the Miami Heat, coming off back-to-back titles, would find it difficult to reignite the competitive fire needed to defend its championships and go for a Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy trifecta during the 2013-14 campaign, think […]The post Miami Heat are heading...

Louisville Zoo’s newest jaguar is named “LeBron James”

Unless you happen to be part of the Louisville Zoo organization, I’m going to take a guess that you didn’t know that one of their newest animal additions was named, “LeBron James”. The Zoo’s new jaguar got his name from the famous Miami Heat hoopster thanks to the location of where he was born: LeBron the jaguar is four years old and came to Louisville from the Brevard...

Chris Bosh Believes Another Championship In Miami Will Keep Heat Together

For all intents and purposes, this could be the final time that the Miami Heat hold training camp together as constructed. The big three all have opt out clauses in their contracts, and it could lead to one or all three superstars leaving the Heat for greener pastures. The Heat will be trying to win their third straight NBA title, and have the opportunity to make their fourth straight...

D-Wade and Durant were E-beefing

Whenever Sports Illustrated releases its annual list of the Top 100 NBA players it sparks a debate.  Everyone from NBA analysts, bloggers to barbershops and corner boys attempt to poke holes in the rational behind a subjective list that supposedly defines the NBA’s top players. As such, it’s no surprise that NBA players have their own thoughts on the Top 100 list. After all...

Wade, Durant argue over rankings

Dwyane Wade and Kevin Durant are getting a little 1-on-1 in before the season starts. Well, on Twitter, anyway. Durant told CineSport in a video interview that he believes his former Oklahoma City teammate James Harden should be considered one of the top 10 players in the NBA, and Wade -- a three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat -- should not. So Wade responded by posting...

Miami Heat To Use Nicknames On Jerseys?

Each NBA team has a few jersey rotations that they wear each season. Typically, they have a home, road, and maybe a few alternate jerseys. This season, Miami is considering using nicknames on the back of their jerseys. Of course, the NBA must approve any changes to jerseys before any implementations take place. My guess [...]
