Found December 07, 2011 on Hooped Up: Atlanta Hawks:
Dear Celtics, trading Rajon Rondo would possibly be worst idea ever. Taking him away from a mix that includes Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett is on par with trading Tom Brady away from the Patriots (who I hate) and he just won’t look right in a non-Boston jersey. Why? Cause he’s a Celtic dammit, that’s why.

Rajon Rondo Trade Rumors Shouldn’t Have Celtics Fans Concerned

Even if the past three months have consisted of nothing but exhibition games and stock footage of David Stern talking business, there’s been plenty of time to mull over potential free agent options for the Boston Celtics ahead of Christmas day. For one, there’s Dwight Howard if your credit card is big enough. Or two, there’s the marked down version of Howard — Chris Paul...

Rondo Continues to Find Himself in the Rumor Mill

According to A. Sherrod Blakely, the Celtics were/are “strongly engaged” in talks with New Orleans today for Chris Paul. The rumored deal proposed by Danny Ainge was/is:   Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, and two first round picks in exchange for Chris Paul. The Celtics would then have to find a third team to sweeten the [...]

Danny Offers Rondo, Green, & two 1st rounders for Chris Paul

Ken Berger CBS Sports But the Celtics stepped forward with an offer that would not have to come with any commitment from Paul that he'd re-sign with Boston after the season. According to a person familiar with the discussions, the Celtics offered Rajon Rondo, two future first-round picks, and restricted free agent Jeff Green in a sign-and-trade for Paul. The impetus behind...

In the GreenLab: Defeating the "Sag" Defense

In the first part of the GreenLab series, I examined several options of how Rajon Rondo can defeat defenses that go under screens against him.  This defense forces him to shoot the jumper and attempts to cut off his passing and slashing angles.  As I pointed out, the Celtics function as a team to cover up his shooting issues and do have several ways to defeat it. In this second...

Your Move, Danny.

Fine, I’ll write about it. I will write about how ridiculous this “CP3” mega-rumor is. When word got out that Danny Ainge was open to trading Rajon Rondo in exchange for Chris Paul the fanbase of the Boston Celtics had plenty to be excited about. We all love Rondo and also agree that he is a detriment offensively. It remains to be seen with hands and arms too long for his...

The Chris Paul Knee Issue

I've stated my reasons several times why I wouldn't do the Rajon Rondo/Chris Paul trade, but the scariest part of the trade would be if the Celtics re-signed Paul for $100 million over 5 years and he ceased being a top point guard. The reality is this is very possible. In case you're curious about Chris Paul's knee, here's a synopsis from last year via NOLA.comPaul...

What Now?

These two won't be laughing with Rondo still in their locker room. For the past week or so, 95% of the Celtics rumors were centered around two all-star point guards: Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul. Well tonight, all of that speculation has come to an end. As reported by multiple sources, the Hornets, Lakers and Rockets have agreed upon a three-way trade that will send Chris Paul...

Damn, An Epic Bill Simmons Rajon Rondo rant

Bill Simmons lays into Danny Ainge today in his Grantland piece Hey Danny? If you really want to blow this up, then have the balls to actually do it — use your amnesty on Garnett (who’s never making it through that inhumane 66-game schedule they released yesterday, much less nine weeks of playoff games with one day’s rest between each game), try to sign Tyson Chandler, then...

Rondo-for-Paul move riskier for Boston than you'd think

Rajon Rondo for Chris Paul? It's a deal the Celtics reportedly would love to make. But there would be big Boston risks, writes Zach Lowe, and they go beyond Paul's looming free agency.

Hornets not hot about the Celtics proposal for Chris Paul

I'm not sure if you've heard about this or not, but the Celtics really want Chris Paul and they're willing to give up Rajon Rondo for his services. I know, breaking news. Apparently, Danny Ainge is willing to give up more than Rondo in order to acquire Paul. Much, much more. However, New Orleans doesn't appear to be doing back flips over Boston's proposal....

The Message

Rumors and speculation abound about where Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets is going to end up playing next season. It seems almost certain that he will not be in New Orleans. It seems his preference is New York, which is an impossibility this year. The front runners seem to be Golden State and the Los Angeles Clippers, and then of course the Lakers and Celtics are each entertaining...

Shannon Brown, Sebastian Telfair to join Suns

In 2007 draft revisionist history, it is often said how the Suns could have had Rajon Rondo if they had not traded the pick in a money-saving move to Boston. Actually, with concerns about Rondo’s shooting, some Suns staffers said at the time that Phoenix might have been more apt to draft Shannon Brown if it [...]

A Wednesday Catchup

Out of commission yesterday, apparently I missed a number of noteworthy items. CBS and NBC have been wrestling over the Patriots/Broncos game on December 18th. NBC would like to flex out the game to Sunday night, while CBS wants to keep it right where it currently is – a 4:15 start on their network. The NFL announced that a decision would be made today on the schedule for the game...
