Hindsight is always 20/20, so it’s understandable when a person is able to look back and realize they made a mistake. It might take some time, but most people are able to recognize the mistakes that they have made. Former Detroit Pistons’ guard Isiah Thomas is apparently no different. But what he specifically regrets, might be what causes you to raise an eyebrow. Thomas was doing an interview on NBA TV’s Open Court and when asked whether or not he regrets not shaking Michael Jordan’s hand in the 1991 playoffs, Zeke was surprisingly very candid about the situation looking back. “Absolutely,” Thomas said. “Now, and the reason why I would is, looking back, in terms of what has happened, had I taken the chance, we all should have. We should have taken the high road. I would say we resisted, and even myself I resisted, for a good six to eight months. We had dethroned the Celtics. We had dethroned the Lakers. And we thought we deserved a little bit of respect as a champion.” At the time, the bad blood between the Pistons and Bulls would make the rivalries of today look like a joke. Remember, the Pistons are the ones who invented the ‘Jordan Rules’ when playing against him. I guess time really does heal all wounds. Good to see Isiah isn’t still bitter about getting beat.

Detroit Pistons will be fun to watch, but is that enough?

USA Today ranked the Detroit Pistons as the No.6 team in their countdown that’s been ranking NBA teams based on their watchability. The Pistons have to be elated by this No. 6 rating considering the utter lack of watchability their teams have had in recent memory, and especially the team a season ago. The Pistons made radical and much-needed improvements to their roster and coaching...

Isiah Thomas regrets not shaking hands with MJ, Bulls in '91 playoffs

Nobody was really sure where Ernie Johnson was going, least of all Isiah Thomas, when he asked, “I feel like we can probably ask anything we want here, right?” Thomas sounded understandably tentative when Johnson posed that question to him on an episode of NBA TV’s Open Court. Thomas had to wonder if Johnson would tell him that he ruined the Knicks. Or that he ruined Florida...

Pistons' Kyle Singler quietly sets out to prove himself

Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings sped up the floor dribbling. A jitterbug it looked like his path was clear for an easy bucket during Thursday’s scrimmage. But at the last second he dropped a nice no-look pass to a streaking Kyle Singler for a lay-up. Oh yeah Singler. When watching scrimmages it’s easy to get lost watching Andre Drummond try to dunk every time he’s...

Darko has found a second pro sport?

This picture symbolizes Darko Milicic’s career perfectly, unfortunately.Photo Credit: SBNation/AP You can make the argument that the Detroit Pistons selection of Darko Milicic in 2003 was the worst selection in NBA Draft history. It’s not only because Darko was a complete flop, but probably more so about the players that were taken after him, which were just some guys named Carmelo...

Datome, fresh off 11 EuroBasket games, raring to go in Pistons camp

Joe Dumars and Maurice Cheeks would get it if Gigi Datome’s head was swimming and his legs wobbly after playing 11 tough games for his national team in EuroBasket competition hopping on a plane and landing in Detroit immersed in a new culture less than 48 hours before Pistons training camp began. His teammates? That’s another story. “Those guys that are trying to get his...

Brandon Jennings: I had to take all those shots with Bucks

New Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings today defended his shot selection while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. Former teammate Larry Sanders may feel that Jennings should have passed more but Jennings thinks the only way the Bucks had a chance was for him and backcourt mate Monta Ellis to take the majority of shots. "I had to I had to though” he said. “I mean I had...

BRANDON JENNINGS SAYS HE HAD TO SHOOT FOR BUCKS TO HAVE A SHOT!
