Larry Brown Sports:
Mavericks guard Jason Terry has never been shy about voicing his opinion or talking trash. Most of the time he talks before and after games, but Wednesday, he threw a jab at the Celtics during the game.
While doing a halftime interview with ESPN, Terry complimented Rajon Rondo while blasting the rest of Boston’s roster.
“He’s the only one with energy on their team,” Terry said. “Everyone else is a little older and they’re not running as fast.”
The Mavs were only up by one at that point, so it really took some balls for Terry to say that. But again, this is Jason Terry — he’s the guy who had enough stones to get a tattoo of the championship trophy before ever winning a title. He’s the same guy that called Matt Barnes the Charminator.
Perhaps picking on the Celtics in-game wasn’t a great idea, but it worked. Dallas won 90-85. Rondo was Boston’s leading scorer with 24 and 7 assists. Terry led Dallas with 18.
BEST OF MAXIM
He spent last season finding his teammates at any cost, sometimes passing up wide open layups in favor of a potential assist. Yet when Rajon Rondo has been at his best this season, when he has had to shoulder a different kind of role, there’s considerably less Stockton to his craft, and a hint of Allen Iverson has been dropped into the equation.Rondo shoots far less than Iverson...
According to SheridanHoops.com, Rajon Rondo is not the preliminary Olympic roster. Here are the point guards on the roster.
Follow that link for the full 19-man roster. As for Rondo... his withdrawal from the team last year might have been enough to remove him from the running on this...
No NBA fan is going to forget the duel between Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo in the 2009 NBA playoffs. The Celtics were the reigning NBA champions and team to beat in the NBA. The staggering Celtics’ defense was led by Associate Head Coach and defensive specialist, Tom Thibodeau. For several seasons, Celtics’ opponents were [...]
Loul Deng and the Bulls got the better of Rajon Rondo and the Celtics tonight in Boston
Some thoughts I thought while I watched the Celtics nearly pull another game out of their asses, but secretly knowing they wouldn’t
This is starting to become a trend. Celtics look sloppy in the first half, Celtics find some fire in the second half, Celtics make run, Celtics come up short when...
Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Terry describes his meeting with President Barack Obama as one of the greatest days of his life.
The Celtics were outrebounded 43-35 and it hurt them last night. Rajon Rondo led the way for the Celtics last night with 24 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Kevin Garnett also had a very solid game as he finished up with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot. Ray Allen (9 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists) and Keyon Dooling (9 points and 1 steal) also...
Rajon Rondo is playing better than Kevin Garnett, better than Paul Pierce, better than Ray Allen this season. This is no longer 2008 where the Celtics were the “Big 3” with the young Rondo as the apprentice. Coach Doc Rivers doesn’t see it that way, he told A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com. “This is his…
7:45 p.m.: This is not the game to expect the Celtics to finally break out of their rebounding funk. The Celtics, who allowed 17 second-chance points to the Mavericks on Wednesday and are second-to-last in the NBA in overall rebounding, take on the best team in the league at keeping opponents off the glass. That's right. Bulls opponents average just 37.8 rebounds per game, the...
NBA Odds: Celtics, Bulls Battle for Early Season Supremacy
The Chicago Bulls will line up against the Boston Celtics this Friday in the first game of a season series between the two Eastern Conference contenders. Though usually linked by a mutual hatred of Miami, each are well aware that early season wins like this one could lead to home-court advantage down the stretch.
