April 24, 2012; Oklahoma City OK, USA; Sacramento Kings point guard A few days back, Fox Sports’ Sam Amico brought up the notion of the Kings’ Jimmer Fredette playing alongside Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the rest of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Amico mentioned Durant’s friendship with Fredette as a possible caveat in the deal, but the “rumor” seemed more like speculation than anything. According to Thunder beat writer Royce Young, that’s exactly what it was: Lots are asking about the Jimmer rumor. I wouldn’t take it that seriously. The Thunder don’t have a lot of available assets that the Kings would show interest in, though the one name that continually circulated was guard Eric Maynor – though that deal never made much sense for the guard heavy Kings. Maynor does have an unusual mini-cult following in some NBA fandom circles, though it’s one I’ve never fully understood given his average play. Jimmer Fredette rumors will continue to swirl, but, the Kings have little reas...

Will Jimmer Fredette soon be a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder?

Speculation continues to mount that Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti will attempt to trade for underused Sacramento Kings shooting guard Jimmer Fredette before the 2012-2013 campaign commences on November 1. Fredette, who was taken out of Brigham Young … Continue reading →

Kevin Durant: Lakers have the best team in the league on paper

Championships are not won and lost on paper. That’s the beauty of sports. The Boston Red Sox can trade for an Adrian Gonzalez and sign a Carl Crawford and less than two years later both are wearing Dodger blue. But that team was supposed to win over 100 games a season and multiple titles, right? Wrong. Over the course of the offseason, the Lakers have transformed their team of...

The Sacramento Kings could move, just not to Virginia Beach

Players View was a bit leery of the rumor that surfaced and spread like wildfire that the Sacramento Kings were moving to Virginia Beach. Through statements that were released by the team and made by ownership, it seems very unlikely that this scenario will come to fruition. Please click the link below to read this story.

Spain certainly can't afford to lose Serge Ibaka

Serge Ibaka didn't play nearly as much as anyone expected he would in the Olympics. The Spanish team who eventually finished seven points shy of a Gold Medal did play Ibaka for 22 minutes in the final game against the US, but he probably should've played even more than that. To speculate, the issue most likely revolved around the fact that the Gasol brothers manned the...

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Serge Ibaka Upset with Role for Spain During the London Olympics

At 22 years of age, Serge Ibaka has built himself into one of the premier forwards in the NBA. Propped up by the attention during the Oklahoma City Thunder playoff run, Ibaka went from a near no-name during his first couple of years in the league to becoming a part of a young OKC core alongside Kevin Durant, [...] [[ This is a content summary only. James Harden Leaving OKC?

“I want to keep playing with the Thunder. I feel like home and the team is special: my teammates are like my family. We can do big things.” – J. Harden Interesting situation down in OKC. Apparently Serge Ibaka’s $51mil contract isn’t leaving much room for highly desired guard James Harden. As you know, the Thunder’s main man at guard is Russie. So this leaves them...

NBA’s Sacramento Kings relocating to Virginia Beach?

The latest NBA rumors have the Sacramento Kings moving out of town and over to Virginia Beach, Va., where they would play in a brand new venue which would be funded by Comcast. This one comes courtesy of an article published by Inside Business. The Kings have made it known all along that they’d prefer to stay in Sacramento or the surrounding area, but the franchise hasn’t been...

The Sacramento Kings could move just not to Virginia Beach

Players View was a bit leery of the rumor that surfaced and spread like wildfire that the Sacramento Kings were moving to Virginia Beach. Through statements that were released by the team and made by ownership, it seems very unlikely that this scenario will come to fruition. “The Kings organization over the last several years has been approached by numerous parties and cities...

False Reports Of Sacramento Kings Relocation To Virginia Beach Spreading Like Wildfire

I tried to refrain from talking about the rumors of the Sacramento Kings relocating to Virginia Beach – I really did. The legs on the story were so shaky to begin with and they only got shakier as the hours passed by. But, I feel like I have to comment now – not so much [...] [[ This is a content summary only. Kevin Durant isn't waiting around for his time

Kevin Durant vs. LeBron James is shaping up to be one of the greater basketball rivalries of all time. While James currently has the upper hand, winning last season’s MVP and the NBA Finals against Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder, it is still a close gap. Durant won the scoring title for the third year in a row and stole the show at the Olympics in London this summer. Even...

Kevin Durant on the Lakers : Best team on paper

No question the Los Angeles Lakers have made the most news of any team in the off season. After the NBA Finals Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder were still the clear favorites to get back to the NBA Finals . However now the Lakers have traded for Steve Nash and Dwight Howard and only shipped Andrew Bynum out. So what does Durant think of the new looked Lakers...

Orlando Sentinel writer attempts to make the case for Kevin Durant signing with the Magic in 2016

As we make our way through Orlando Sentinel’s Brian Schmitz’s thought process on this, let’s keep a few things in mind. First, he’s a writer in a city that just watched their franchise center drag them through the mud before heading off to Los Angeles. And second, he’s a writer in a city that watched their franchise center drag them through the mud in 1996 before heading...

5-year-old forced to turn Michigan t-shirt inside out at school

One of the things that I learned this week is that the Oklahoma City school district doesn't approve of little kids wearing Michigan t-shirts. 5-year-old Cooper Barton (as pictured above) was forced to turn his t-shirt inside out after a Principal at Wilson Elementary School spotted him wearing it. Apparently, the Oklahoma City public school district has a ban of certain...

Nets sign Donte Greene Nets sign Donte Greene The Nets have come to terms with Donte Greene to give him a training camp invite with a non guaranteed contract. Greene is a former first round pick from Syracuse, as the 6-11 forward is now the 14th person under contract with the Nets and would be a backup for Gerald Wallace, and Mirza Teletovic. He has played his first 4 seasons...

Obama Calls For NBA Backup

John Wall, Nick Collison, Austin Rivers and even Juwan Howard rushed to the President’s campaign fundraiser. Michael Jordan and Walt Frazier were the headlining guest names but as you can see below, the boys looked just happy to be there. Word is our President raised $3 mil with the help of the NBA stars and had the following to say during his speech: “But the other side is...
