John Wall either got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, or he’s simply not drinking the MCW Kool-Aid. Coming off his dazzling debut against the Miami Heat, 76ers rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams will take it up a notch Friday when he battles John Wall and the Washington Wizards.   Wall, one of the NBA’s top young point guards, and a guy who was once a rookie also isn’t feeling the MCW buzz. According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Wall “says it’s only one game.” Wizards PG John Wall's impressions of @MCW1: "I don't really know. I mean, he had one good game. I mean the first game the opening night .. — Keith Pompey (@PompeyOnSixers) November 1, 2013 … Very enthused. He was ready, excited. The first time playing in front of the Sixers’ fans. So he had a big game. .. — Keith Pompey (@PompeyOnSixers) November 1, 2013 … I had a couple of big games my rookie year. So I’m excited and happy for him.” — Keith Pompey (@PompeyOnSixers) Nov

Wizards’ John Wall leaves game with Back Spasms

Washington Wizards could have a serious issue to deal with as guard John Wall left the home opener in the third quarter with back spasms against the Philadelphia 76ers in an embarrassing 109-102 loss. The Wizards have opened their season with another 0-2 record, for the second year in a row. On Sunday, the Wizards are to due to face off against the defending champion Miami Heat....

Back spasms could become serious issue for Wall

That the Wizards lost their second game in a row to open the season is bad enough. And the news got worse Friday night. John Wall, who led his team with 26 points on 10-for-19 shooting, six assists and three steals in a 109-102 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, could barely stand because of his lower back. Spasms started in the third quarter and he was in excruciating pain in the locker room.

Michael Carter-Williams Had A Very Impressive NBA Debut

The 2013 NBA Draft was widely criticized for not having any franchise-changing players — and that may very well still turn out to be the case — but don’t tell that to 76ers point guard Michael Carter-Williams. The rookie went up against the most daunting of foes in his NBA debut, the Miami Heat. Even though Miami expended a lot of energy laying waste to the Bulls the night...

Rookie Carter-Williams Sets Record

The Philadelphia 76ers Michael Carter-Williams may be ruining their plan on tanking the season.  The rook finished the game with a record setting 9 steals for a player in his first NBA game. The rest of his stat line was just as amazing (and he did it against the defending champs, Miami Heat).  Carter-Williams finishes with 22 points 12 assists (second most in NBA history for...

Welcome to the NBA Michael Carter-Williams

With the 11th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Michael Carter-Williams, PG Syracuse University and he did not disappoint in his debut last night against the Miami Heat.  Imagine being thrown into the fire against the reigning champions and LeBron James to start your career and nearly QUADRUPLE-double!  MCW put up 22 points, dished out 12 assists, had...

Michael Carter-Williams’ Monster First Quarter vs Heat (VIDEO)

The 76ers are supposed to be tanking for Wiggins, but if Michael Carter-Williams has it his way, there might not be a need for Wiggins here in Philadelphia. The 6’6″ rookie out of Syracuse started his 76ers career off on the night that Allen Iverson officially ended his, and both brought enough star power to the building to carry the 76ers to a highly unlikely opening night upset...

76ers surprise again, beat Bulls

Rookie Michael Carter-Williams had 26 points and 10 assists and Spencer Hawes added 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers continued their stunning start to the season, beating the Chicago Bulls 107-104 on Saturday night. Pegged to be one of the league's worst teams, the Sixers (3-0) have opened the season with wins over Chicago, Washington and two-time defending...

Starting Lineups: Michael Carter-Williams Takes The Stage As Allen Iverson Exists

The Philadelphia 76ers are supposed to be terrible this year — potentially historically, comically terrible. And more likely than not, they will be. In fact, it would surprise exactly no one if the Sixers lose badly tonight against the Washington Wizards. But for one night, the Sixers were incredibly fun to watch, toppling the defending […]The post Starting Lineups: Michael Carter...

Chicago Bulls Vs. Philadelphia 76ers – Game Recap

Final Score: Chicago Bulls, 104 – Philadelphia 76ers, 107 In a stunning game, the Philadelphia 76ers came back down 20 to defeat the Chicago Bulls. Halloween Week Part V: Five Scary NBA Predictions for the 2013/14 Season

This week has had a nice Halloween feel to it. On Monday we posted about sports curses, Tuesday was a sweet gallery of sports pumpkin carvings, Wednesday was just the flat scariest athletes in sports, and yesterday we put together a collection of some NFL cheerleaders in Halloween costumes. Today, we wanted to get our NBA predictions in so we stretched it a bit. The 2013/2014 NBA...

Sixers stay on attack in comeback win over Wizards, improve to 2-0

It doesn’t make much sense. Typically when a team built like the 76ers plays the way it did for the first two-and-a-half quarters, it loses by 20. Especially on the road. After all, the Sixers missed their first nine three-pointers and 14 of their first 15. They went a horrid 7 for 14 from the foul line and their rookie point guard committed two turnovers in the first two minutes...

76ers-Wizards Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers' season-opening win over the defending NBA champions was enough of a surprise in itself, but the performance of Michael-Carter Williams turned plenty of heads. He's not exactly basking in the moment, though. After a stellar debut, the rookie point guard looks to guide Philadelphia to its first 2-0 start in seven years Friday night as it visits the...
