Beyond The Buzzer:
Following a a 103-80 loss at Chesapeake Energy Arena Wednesday night, John Wall was asked if he though OKC’s Russell Westbrook was the NBA’s fastest player. The third-year-point guard didn’t think twice before insisting he is the league’s fastest player.
According to John Rohde, The Oklahoman:
“No, I’m going to say myself..”
Wall wouldn’t even say for certain that Westbrook was the league’s second-fastest player.
“It’s tough man,” said Wall, who was coming off a career-high 47 points Monday against Memphis and finished with 18 points and 12 assists against the Thunder. “There’s a couple fast guys in this league. He (Westbrook) is up there,Derrick (Rose) is up there, when he’s healthy. Mike Conley’s pretty quick. There’s a couple guys. Ty Lawson’s quick. So there’s a lot of guys, but I put myself first.”

Kevin Durant called last week's game at Orlando a "Must win."
Kind of strange, considering it was May. Stranger that it was Orlando.
But the stranger thing is Durant may have been right.
While the time and the place for the comment seems premature and out of line, the fact is the Thunder have to win against Orlando and the rest of the bottom feeders of the league...
Kevin Durant and Dwayne Wade met in last season's NBA Finals when their Thunder and Heat squads clashed for the NBA crown. Wade's Heat eventually walked away as champions while Durant and OKC were left to have eyes set on returning to the Finals this season.
Fast forward to this season and it would not be out of the realm of possibility for the Thunder and Heat to meet...

The Oklahoma City Thunder are the highest-scoring team in the NBA, but it's defense that has keyed their latest winning streak.
Now they'll look to continue their domination of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are in the midst of one of their best offensive stretches of the season.
The visiting Thunder go for their 15th win in 16 meetings with the Timberwolves on Friday night...
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Russell Westbrook scored 21 points, Kevin Durant added 20 and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Washington Wizards 103-80 on Wednesday night.
Kevin Martin had 18 points for the Thunder, who came in 1 games behind San Antonio for the top spot in the Western Conference. San Antonio was hosting Denver.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been tied to the Wizards all season long. It started in the off-season when Washington turned down a trade that would have sent Bradley Beal and Chris Singleton to the Thunder for James Harden. Then, with the season in full swing sans John Wall, the Wiz fell to 5-28 and their 34th game of the season was against OKC. With Wall returning the next game...
Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade have teamed up with Gatorade for a pretty cool new commercial entitled Fixation.
The commercial reenacts the NBA Finals matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat from last year’s playoffs. From the YouTube description, “Fixation is a story about the relentless inner drive of athletes to be the best they can be.” Durant even...

When the Magic hired Rob Hennigan, they made no hiding the fact that the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs are their models. With the Thunder in town last week, there was glowing praise for Hennigan as a talent evaluator and for what he is beginning to build in Orlando.
The top two seeds in the Western Conference are solid models for the organization. They are both...
