Eight days ago San Antonio Spurs Assistant General Manager Dennis Lindsey was reported to be one of three finalists for the vacant Orlando Magic General Manager position along with former New Orleans Hornets GM Jeff Bower and Oklahoma City Thunder Assistant GM Rob Hennigan.

A decision still hasn't been made on who will be selected for the position, but according to the Orlando Sentinel, all three candidates have met with the owners of the Magic as of last Friday.

The three finalists — former New Orleans Hornets GM Jeff Bower, Oklahoma City Thunder Assistant GM/Player Personnel Rob Hennigan and San Antonio Spurs Vice President/Assistant GM Dennis Lindsey— have met with members of the DeVos family in Michigan for the final round of interviews. The final interview may have taken place this past Friday.

A decision has to be coming soon as the NBA Draft is just eight days away and the Magic hold the 19th and 49th picks in the draft. Plus they have the 2012 Most Improved Player Ryan Anderson as a restricted free agent, along with Ish Smith and DeAndre Liggins. Jameer Nelson and Earl Clark can both opt out of their contracts to become unrestricted free agents, and Daniel Orton is an unrestricted free agent.

Case in point, should Lindsey get hired for the job, he'd have a tough task ahead of him to either sign or trade for pieces that will make Dwight Howard comfortable to want to re-sign in Orlando, or trade Howard and begin building a brand new foundation.

Since Lindsey comes from the crop of the Spurs front office, he would be projected to have some success as others in the past have done, most notably Sam Presti of the Thunder.
