That NBA Lottery Pick:
This season for Lakers fan hasn’t exactly been the greatest and well, local television for the Lakers has taken a bit hit.
In a report today in Variety.com, it is believed that the local ranking for the Lakers are down nearly 50% from last year:
Looking at Nielsen’s “Live plus same-day” ratings for the 2013-14 season, the 57 telecasts of Lakers games on Time Warner Cable SportsNet have averaged 199,000 viewers — down a whopping 49% from last year at this time (390,000).
The Lakers’ ratings decline has swelled in recent weeks as even the most optimistic fan had to know that the team wasn’t headed for the postseason. Four of their last seven losses have come by 20 points or more and the three most recent Lakers games have averaged a meager 72,000 viewers; a year ago, games on the comparable dates averaged 586,000, or more than eight times as much.
I have a feeling they will be up next season though…

Don’t worry Phil and Iggy, I’m pretty sure that Jeanie is just talking about platonic love here.
Either way, this is still a great quote.
During an extended sit-down interview with Bill Macdonald from Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Jeanie Buss revealed that she has developed a sweet spot for Nick Young this season, something that could bode well for his chances of remaining with...
The Los Angeles Lakers have had a nightmare season. They are last in the Western Conference, their star player Kobe Bryant is out for the season, and has called them out over and over, Steve Nash said he won’t retire because he wants the money, and now Nash has defied the injury report. After being […]
These are confusing times for Laker fans. Their team was the first in the entire league to eliminated from the playoffs this season, and Phil Jackson has jetted off to New York to help turn around the Knicks as opposed to sticking around in Los Angeles and working for the Lakers.
So, what’s going on?
The reason the Lakers passed on Phil’s services was explained last week, though...
It’s not that shocking to hear that Nick Young will make his return to the court on Friday when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Washington Wizards at Staples Center.
However, it is a little more surprising to learn that Steve Nash will apparently be back on the court.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports, Nash will play tonight versus the Wizards. The 40-year-old...
The bootleg Lakers are undermanned, not very talented and have been hit by injuries all year, but Kobe has no sympathy for them at all.
So @dpshow asks @kobebryant if @BarackObama could make the @lakers right now. Kobe: "Yes."

I feel bad for the bootleg Lakers because they play hard, but it has been a rough...
Steve Nash had been ruled out for the remainder of the 13-14 season, but the Los Angeles Lakers are now down to one healthy point guard in Kendall Marshall.
Jordan Farmar is out at least two weeks with a strained right groin.
"It's still a possibility," Mike D'Antoni said Wednesday. "We have to see where he is physically. ... We'll have to see some practices...
New Knicks President Phil Jackson continues to get glowing reviews from everyone who gets asked about his joining the Knicks organization.
Pau Gasol was asked about the Jackson hire, and told ESPN L.A. that the Knicks are “fortunate” to have Jackson, and that he’ll be worth every cent of the $60 million he’s going to collect.
“I think the Knicks are fortunate to have...
Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni opened the door for the chance that Steve Nash could return at some point this season after the veteran guard supposedly shut it down last week because of nerve root irritation in his back and hamstrings.
"It's still a possibility," D'Antoni said Wednesday when asked if Nash could play at some point in the Lakers'...
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash will suit up tonight against the Washington Wizards, according to the Lakers on Twitter. Nash will be coming off the bench and monitor how he feels as the game goes on. This will be the first action he's had since February 11th.As reported earlier this month, Nash has been sidelined for the majority of the season with back issues attributed...
According to Yahoo Sports, Nash will play for the Lakers against the Wizards on Friday Night.
Nash who says he isn’t retiring because he wants his money, is showing he isn’t mailing it in because most thought he was down for the season.
The NBA is aware that the relationship between newly crowned Knicks President of Basketball Operations Phil Jackson and his fiance Jeanie Buss, who is the the President of the Los Angeles Lakers, could raise red flags as a potential conflict of interest violation.
But don´t worry, ESPN reports that the NBA has covered all of its bases and has had a conversation with both about what...
A lot of Los Angeles Angeles Lakers fans will scoff at Mitch Kupchak’s assertion that head coach Mike D’Antoni has been anything but terrible but I think he has a valid point.
D’Antoni has had to deal with so much adversity since joining the Lakers, some of it admittedly was self administered but a lot of it was out of his control.
Kupchak defended his head coach in the...
It’s been a rough season for the Los Angeles Lakers and head coach Mike D’Antoni has been looking like he’ll be the scapegoat when all is said and done. Despite having injuries ravage his roster, the consensus seems to be that D’Antoni will be gone at the end of the season and replaced in the summer.
Kobe Bryant coming out against the coach in very cryptic ways hasn’t...
Everyone knows the New York Knicks were Phil Jackson’s second choice. Had Jackson been offered the exact same position with the Los Angeles Lakers as the one he accepted with the Knicks, he would have chosen LA. Why wasn’t that offer extended? Lakers president Jeanie Buss, who referred to herself as “the boss,” shed some […]
The Los Angeles Lakers are having one of the toughest seasons in their storied franchise history. Longtime Lakers star Kobe Bryant, recently, has voiced his displeasure with the team’s lack of success.
Today while on the Dan Patrick Show, Kobe was so critical of the roster that he said United States President Barack Obama could make the team with how it stands now:
