A couple nights ago, Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola tried to get himself on the highlight films by throwing down a poster dunk on Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.

Sadly for Luis, his legs betrayed him and the dunk drew iron:

Luis Scola's dunk attempt fails miserably (Video)

Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola recently tried to do something that he had not done all season: he attempted a dunk. During Sunday night's game against the Sacramento Kings, the Rockets found themselves on a 4-on-1 fast break near the end of the first half. Rockets guard Courtney Lee passed it to Scola, who decided to attempt a one-handed dunk over Kings center DeMarcus...

Chandler Parsons Pulls a Kobe Move on Kobe in Kobe’s House

The Houston Rockets got a steal when they took Chandler Parsons with the 38th pick in this year’s draft. Parsons has consistently been one of the top performing rookies this season, and got snubbed by the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge durring All-Star Weekend. The lack of respect has seemed to only motivate Parsons to perform at an even higher level, out ‘Kobeing’ Kobe Bryant...

Luis Scola Nearly Posterizes DeMarcus Cousins

You know it’s a laugher when Luis Scola’s trying to posterize people. The Rockets certainly did trounce the Kings on Sunday evening, never trailing and leading by as many as 22 before going on to take it 104-87.  Just before halftime, and much to the amusement of his teammates, the not-so-high-flying Scola attempted to finish one of Houston’s many fast breaks with a right...

Sorry, But This Yao Ming Photo Isn’t Real

While there’s nothing better than someone becoming aware of their own meme and embracing it, I’m sad to say that I am the bearer of bad news today. The above image popped up on Imgur, Memebase and a few other sites yesterday and most people were all like, “Oh snap, Yao Ming has embraced his trollface meme.” I only wish that were the case. Using my keen CSI investigating...

Dragic's free agent point guard stock on the rise

The usual suspects of free agent point guards for hire this coming offseason typically begins with Deron Williams and Steve Nash.  Everyone after that becomes lost in the shuffle.  But all of a sudden Goran Dragic is starting to climb the free agent point guard ladder. On Monday the Houston Rockets point guard took  a couple big steps.  Dragic’s day started by learning...

Rockets 94, Trail Blazers 89

Goran Dragic scored 22 points and the Houston Rockets completed a perfect four-game road trip with a 94-89 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night. Chase Budinger added 15 points off the bench for the Rockets, who beat the Bulls, Lakers and Kings before visiting Portland. Houston (32-25), jockeying for playoff position in the Western Conference, has won six of its...

Rockets-Trail Blazers Preview

The Houston Rockets are surging and getting healthier as they gain ground in the Western Conference standings. The Rockets have won three straight on the road as they try to complete this trip with another victory Monday night against a Portland Trail Blazers team that figures to be desperate. Houston (31-25) won 104-87 at Sacramento on Sunday, moving one-half game ahead of seventh...

Poor shooting ails Rockets in loss to Jazz

HOUSTON (AP) -- Running out of games and healthy bodies, the Utah Jazz turned to their budding star to keep their fading playoff hopes alive in Houston. Gordon Hayward scored a season-high 29 points to lead the Jazz to a 103-91 win over the Rockets on Wednesday night. Utah came into the game holding the No. 10 spot in the Western Conference, but only 1 games behind Denver for the...

Day 108 of 124: DeMarcus Cousins Leads The Losers

Last night’s game provided a very nice example of the difference between fantasy basketball and real NBA basketball. Not because someone with 8 blocks ran away with the Line of the Night, but because the 5 of the top 7 Honorable Mentions came from guys on the losing end of their games. Yet if you have them on your fantasy team, then they’re helping you to win whatever match-up...

Jazz-Rockets Preview

A perfect four-game road trip helped the Houston Rockets move into sixth place in the Western Conference. The next five games could determine if they can stay there. The surging Rockets begin an important stretch Wednesday night against the visiting Utah Jazz. Houston (32-25) faced a very tough task in opening its trip with stops in Chicago and Los Angeles to face the Lakers. The...

Blake Griffin brushes off DeMarcus Cousins’ ‘actor’ comments

Following a maddening (or more levels than one) loss against the Clippers Thursday night, DeMarcus Cousins had some inflammatory post-game remarks about Blake Griffin, who notably feigned an injury to draw Cousins’ fifth foul of the game. “I guess the wind from my hand hit him in the eye,” Cousins, who failed to record significant minutes because of foul trouble, told reporters...
