Tracy McGrady, who officially announced his retirement from the NBA in August, will be honored by the Orlando Magic on Nov. 1 during their home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. In addition to being recognized during a center court ceremony, McGrady will serve as a color commentator during a portion of the FOX Sports Florida television broadcast. McGrady played four seasons in Orlando (2000-2004) where he blossomed into one of the NBA's top scorers and led the Magic to the playoffs three times. He owns the team record for highest regular-season scoring average (28.1 ppg) and most points scored in a single game (62 points, March 10, 2004 vs. Washington). In total, McGrady played 16 seasons in the NBA, winning two scoring titles and appearing in seven All-Star Games. "I know that it will be an emotional night for me," McGrady told OrlandoMagic.com's John Denton. "I will have my kids there with me and for them to witness 18,000 people hopefully giving me a standing ovation, yeah, it will be very emotional for me. "To be able to reflect back on the times that I had when I played there, it will be so much fun. It was some really amazing times for me in Orlando. We didn't really accomplish a lot as a team, but for what we had, we brought it every night. And I'll say that we really entertained the Orlando fans with the Darrell Armstrongs, the Bo Outlaws, Monty Williams and Pat Garritys. We laid it all out there and entertained our fans. As far as a team standpoint with what we had to work with, I think we accomplished a lot."
