Found March 15, 2012 on NorthWest Sports Beat:
First reported by Marc J. Spears on Yahoo Blazers will acquire center Hasheem Thabeet and guard Jonny Flynn from Houston for center Marcus Camby!

We also note Houston gets their big man, and one of the best defensive centers in the game.

Camby is averaging 10 rebounds a game in 24.5 minutes at age 37.

Houston also sends a 2012 second-round pick (via Minnesota) to Portland to complete the trade.  From a fantasy perspective Camby will split playing time at center for the Rockets with Samuel Dalembert.  Camby will likely still see regular playing time, but his value is lower with the Rockets since Dalembert will also get his minutes.

My take on this deal is Coach Nate McMillan is probably not going anywhere. We all know he wanted these guys gone from RIP City, and the housecleaning has begun.

Video: Marcus Camby destroys Landry Fields

Marcus Camby was slightly frustrated after watching Raymond Felton commit yet another turnover.  In great tackling form he took out his frustrations on poor Landry Fields.  Being down by 30 points early in the third probably didn’t make matters any better. Assistant coach Kaleb Canales...

Camby, Fisher bring experience to Rockets

HOUSTON Dwight Howard opted to remain in Orlando while the Nets initiated the process of surrounding Deron Williams with legitimate talent as opposed to diving headlong into another rebuilding project. As the NBA trade deadline approached, the Rockets appeared poised to end the proceedings empty-handed and with a roster epitomizing mediocrity. But then general manager Daryl Morey...

The Lakers and Blazers were two big movers on Thursday. The Lakers got a new point guard...

Five for Friday: Playoff push and tourney time

Five things I'm thinking about this weekend while wondering what happened to all my favorite TruTV shows. 1. Something that seems true (and totally is): It's time to turn off Chappelle's Show, because your 2002 Houston Rockets are making a playoff push. I am sure that is where Marcus Camby and Derek Fisher are leading the franchise, and I'm willing to bet my Linkin...

Happy Trails Ahead? Trail Blazers Fire Nate McMillian, Trade Marcus Camby And Gerald Wallace

Go ahead. Say it. Tell us all how you “called this one.” Oh? No one? No one saw this coming? No one looked ahead and saw the Blazers pouring their season in to a toilet, piece by piece, and holding down the flush lever with such a force that there would be no misunderstanding their meaning? Well, in earnest, how could you? How could you have foreseen a professional sports...

With the trades of Gerald Wallace (New Jersey) and Marcus Camby, as well as the dismissal of head coach Nate McMillan, the team has entered a much-needed rebuilding mode.
