Devin Harris expects the toe injury that derailed his three-year, $9 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks to keep him sidelined through training camp and the preseason, but he told KRLD-FM that he believes he’ll be ready for the start of the regular season.Devin Harris tells KRLD-FM that he doesn't think he'll be ready for training camp, but he thinks he'll be ready for the start of the season.— Bryan Gutierrez (@BallinWithBryan) August 2, 2013The Mavericks were ready to sign Harris to a lucrative free-agent contract early last month, but the deal was nixed when his toe injury was uncovered during a physical. Harris eventually reached an agreement with Dallas, but in the end he’s only getting one year at the veteran minimum – which is $1.3 million – potentially missing out on $7.7 million as a result of his toe ailment. While he expects to be out recovering from his injury through training camp and the preseason, Harris is confident that he’ll be back in time for the start of the regular season. The Mavericks must believe they will get something out of Harris, considering they went through with the deal, but now they have much less skin in the game in case his recovery doesn’t go as planned. Follow @hoopsinjurynews
