Metta World Peace has long been a must-follow on Twitter among NBA fans, but he has stepped up his game in the playoffs. Since the Lakers were bounced in four games by the Spurs in the first round, World Peace has been ubiquitous on the social media network, tweeting out everything from basketball trivia to analysis of the Celtics’ defense against the Knicks. One topic has been conspicuously absent from World Peace’s timeline, though. References to the current Lakers have been few and far between. Aside from playing the old “who’s better?” game involving Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kevin Durant — World Peace takes Jordan over his teammate Bryant — pretty much everything Lakers-related has been off limits for World Peace. He explained why on Friday afternoon. My commentary is based on playoff basketball. That is why I am not talking Lakers. Laker Fans,we know "We Da Best" as Dj Khalid would say >>— Metta World Peace (@MettaWorldPeace) May 03, 2013 That makes sense, but anyone else could easily turn that around and use it as a dig against the Lakers. If we didn’t know better, we might even think it is a dig. But we do know him better than that — at least, we think we do — so we can assume this is just another example of logic according to World Peace.
