The Miami Heat return to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second year in a row after beating the Indiana Pacers in six games. They did this without Chris Bosh in the lineup, and he could possibly miss the entire series against Boston. His injury opens the door for Boston’s big men to dominate the Heat in the post, which Indiana failed to take advantage of in their series with the Heat. After a grueling seven-game series with the 76ers it will be interesting to see if the Celtics can hold up in Game 1, which is just two days after the Philadelphia series ended. Heat-Celtics Series Preview The Miami Heat were silently celebrating when the Bulls fell to the 76ers. No one wants to see a star like Derrick Rose get hurt, but his injury and the subsequent series loss by the Bulls made the Heat the overwhelming favorites in the East. Their chances to reach the Finals began to look dim after going down 2-1 to the Pacers, especially with Dwyane Wade’s five point performance in a Game 3...

Bosh might not play (and it's not necessarily a good thing)

Image courtesy Ryan Hurst desigs "He's doing a little bit more, [but] he's still indefinite," Spoelstra said of Bosh. "For me, it's my responsibility right now to prepare this team without him. If and when we get to a point when he starts to emerge into the picture, we'll gladly deal with that. For our mental state of health -- and I'd love...

Dwyane Wade wears green tie and matching finger wrap (Picture)

Dwyane Wade is developing a bit of a Digger Phelphs-like habit. The Heat guard has been showing up to postgame press conferences throughout the postseason wearing ties and a matching finger wrap. We first noticed it when he did it last week when wearing the pink pants. After Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday, Wade wore green. If this is the work of his fashion stylist...

Bosh's return still uncertain

The Heat's third round of the playoffs picked up where the second left off, with questions about the potential availability of sidelined power forward Chris Bosh. Bosh went down in the first half of the first game of the second round against the Indiana Pacers with a lower abdominal strain. He has been listed as out indefinitely since. However, Bosh took part in some light...

D-Wade...Better than a 1970s ‘Super Ball’

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade.Maybe it’s me Eye On Sports NBA lovers, but every time I think about the way Miami Heat superstar shooting guard Dwyane Wade has bounced back after that horrific five-point performance against the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal showdown, I keep thinking about those extra-fun, high-bouncing ‘super balls’ that were...

Bosh back on the court, at least in practice

The Miami Heat dispatched the Boston Celtics (93-79) in Game One of their Eastern Conference Finals series but again were without the services of center Chris Bosh. Bosh has been sidelined with a strained abdominal injury sustained versus the Pacers in the Heat's semifinals series, but if Heat fans were looking to see him back on the court against Boston, think again. Though...

Wade: Heat-Celtics was 'inevitable' matchup

In 2010, Boston ousted Dwyane Wade in the first round and LeBron James in the second round. A year later, Wade and James were teammates and turned the tables, sending the Celtics into the offseason. Here comes the tiebreaker. Celtics-Heat, one more time - with a berth in the NBA finals as the reward. For the fifth time in seven years, it'll be Boston or Miami winning the Eastern...

Garnett knows well what Bosh is going through

MIAMI If you want to know what Chris Bosh is going through, ask Kevin Garnett. Big men Bosh of Miami and Garnett of Boston had been expected to battle in the Eastern Conference finals, which starts Monday night. But Bosh was out for a sixth straight playoff game due to an abdominal strain, and it remains to be seen if he'll be able to play in the series. Garnett suffered the...

Heat stars aided by 'Other Guys' in Game 1

MIAMI The way the two have been playing lately, the national perception is LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and three guys from a beer league could win in the NBA playoffs. Their Miami Heat teammates might not necessarily agree. But they're still spending plenty of time these days giving the two stars the business. "We joke," Heat forward Shane Battier said. "We told...

Heat Playing Less 'Hero Ball' During Streak

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have increased their interplay without Chris Bosh also on the court.

Heat geared up to face Celtics in East finals

MIAMI It had looked as if the Eastern Conference finals might be the Big Three vs. the Big Three. But that was before Miamis trio was downsized to the Big Two due to Chris Boshs injury. And that was before Philadelphia coach Doug Collins bestowed a new name upon Bostons version. I look at them as the Championship Four, said Collins, insisting point guard Rajon Rondo should get...

Rondo: Heat Have To Hit The Deck Too

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade attacked the basket at will in the second half of Miami's 93-79 Game 1 victory over the Celtics.

Hey Rajon,

After underwhelmingly defeating the 76ers in possibly the only playoff series in NBA history that went the distance despite the disproportionate talent level of the two teams, Celtics fans have gotten what they've wanted: a rematch with the Miami Heat.  And while Miami is missing it's 3rd best player in Chris Bosh, it doesn't equate to the injury problems the Celtics...
