The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Friday the 12 finalists – coaches and players – that will be considered for the class of 2013. The class will be named at the NCAA Final Four in April.
Five-time NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway, two-time National Coach of the Year Sylvia Hatchell, two-time NBA Championship as coach (Celtics) Tom Heinsohn, nine-time All-Star Gary Payton, six-time WNBA All-Star Dawn Staley, six-time NBA All-Star Mitch Richmond, four-time NBA All-Star Maurice Cheeks, four-time NBA Al-Star Spencer Haywood, four-time NBA All-Star Bernard King, five-time NCAA Final Four (2-time Final) coach Guy Lewis, six-time NCAA Final Four coach Rick Pitino and four-time NCAA Final Four coach Jerry Tarkanian.
