RealGM: The NBA has announced a new policy for flopping. The NBA defines flopping as "any physical act that appears to have been intended to cause the referees to call a foul on another player." Players will be given a warning for their first offense, followed by a $5k fine for their second offense, $10k for their third, $15k for their fourth and $30k for their fifth fine. For violations after the fifth incident, players can receive an increase fine and/or suspension. Hooray! Hooray! I'm so glad the NBA is actually instituting this. I can't believe that Jeff Van Gundy's very public rant worked! The biggest news here is that there will be suspensions. That means there will be real repercussions to doing this and players will think twice. I honestly don't think that fines would've been enough. The NBA will look at plays after the game and divy out the punishment for flopping. Flopping is absolutely embarassing and it can ruin the game in my opini...
