Found December 22, 2011 on Busted Coverage:

Today we learned the Phoenix Suns hired Kayte Christensen as their social media sideline reporter. Normally, we wouldn’t give a sh*t because, what the hell is a social media sideline reporter? And who gives a sh*t about the Phoenix Suns?

Nonetheless, Christensen apparently has the chops. She was a courtside reporter for the Sacramento Kings until… get this… she was replaced by Jim Gray. Yes, that Jim Gray. The Jim Gray who decided to question Pete Rose during the Series after he was named one the 50 greatest players of all time. Apparently, he’s falling, she’s rising.

Frankly, we’ll take Kayte over Jim Gray any day, even though she confuses us.

Kayte made us reevaluate a lot of things. Here’s the thing — she’s a former player herself. She played for seven seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, and maybe some other teams we don’t care to learn the names of, in the WNBA.

So we’re totally conflicted. On one hand, there’s not much we hate more than chick basketball. We like our women to be able to walk in heels… non-awkwardly. And we like our basketball played with grace by people who fly through the air, rather than people who have two-inch verticals and bank in threes. On the other hand, this Kayte Christensen is trying to ruin our whole idea of what’s right and good in the world.

She played basketball and she’s gorgeous.

So, in her new role with the Suns, she’s going to be tweeting and Facebooking and stuff with fans during the game. The Suns tout it as the first position of it’s kind in the NBA. Of course, it’s just the first official position of it’s kind in the NBA. They overlook the fact that fans have been doing the same thing for free for a number of years.

Despite the pretentiousness of that organization, there is something important here. It’s this fine-ass anomaly known as Kayte Christensen, who can play ball with us any day.

Suns' season motto: No margin for error

The following attempt to pinpoint the potential of this season's Phoenix Suns has been distilled into one chilling sentence delivered by Alvin Gentry: "Our margin for error is not great," the Suns' coach said. The brutal translation? The Suns must execute their offense with a sinister precision not witnessed last season. They also must make shots at a soaring...

Mickael Pietrus reportedly ‘leaning heavily’ toward Boston Celtics

Mickael Pietrus, who was waived yesterday and has a swollen knee that resulted in a failed physical exam earlier this offseason, is reportedly “leaning heavily” toward signing with the Boston Celtics. (CSNNE)Mickael Pietrus, recently released by the Phoenix Suns, is leaning “heavily” towards signing with the Boston Celtics, according to a league source.Pietrus must first...

Alvin Gentry says Spurs can't beat Suns offensively

The Phoenix Suns. Year after year San Antonio Spurs served up the Suns heartache in the playoffs with hard-nosed defense and not to mention a little luck.It was that tough defense that stymied the Suns' offensive prowess time-after-time in the playoffs and it just seemed the Suns never learned that defense wins out over offense. And it seems the Suns still haven't learned...

Phoenix Suns buyout contract of Mickael Pietrus

Suns waive Mickael Pietrus

The Suns waived Mickael Pietrus after reaching a financial agreement, the team announced via a brief press release press release on Thursday. Phoenix had attempted to trade Pietrus to Toronto for a conditional second round draft pick, but the deal fell through after Pietrus was found to not yet be healed from the knee injury…

Suns Buyout Mickael Pietrus

In a move that was very surprising to me the Phoenix Suns bought out the contract of Mickael Pietrus. Key word being bought out, not amnestied. This means the Suns still have their one-time amnesty to use at another point. What they did instead was pay $4.2 million of his contract and placed him on waivers. The Suns bought out Pietrus’ contract, paying him about $4.2 million...

Steve Nash preaches patience as Suns work to correct issues

The Suns dropped their final preseason game on Thursday, and unfortunately for them, the result was a familiar one. The Nuggets cruised to a second straight blowout victory over Phoenix, but this one was far more humbling for the Suns, considering that Nene, Al Harrington, and Ty Lawson all sat this one out due to…

Boston Celtics ready to make move after Phoenix Suns waive Mickael Pietrus

Mickael Pietrus is racking up the frequent flier miles. Next stop Beantown. After the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors called off their trade for Pietrus after concerns surrounding some swelling in his knee after an exam and workout for the Raptors, Pietrus flew from Ottowa, Canada to Phoenix last week for a re-evaluation and meeting with the Suns. Now the Boston Celtics are ready...

2011-12 Phoenix Suns Preview

The real big change was losing star power forward Amare Stoudemire to the bright lights of the big city in New York. Without the All-Star, coach Alvin Gentry cobbled together a solid, albeit far less spectacular offensive club but fell off badly at the defensive end.

Mikeal Pietrus to join Boston Celtics?

Mickael Pietrus, recently released by the Phoenix Suns, is leaning “heavily” towards signing with the Boston Celtics, according to a league source. Pietrus must first clear waivers — that won’t happen until 6 p.m. Saturday — but it’s highly unlikely that any team will want to pick up the $5.3 million he is owed [...]

Marcin Gortat tweets he has a broken thumb, it helps his shot

The Phoenix Suns lost their exhibition opener to the Denver Nuggets, which was relatively uneventful… until Suns center Marcin Gortat sent out a couple of tweets postgame. Great start!!!
