The 26-year-old guard would certainly create an intriguing inside-outside paring with Howard, as he has shown the ability to be a prolific – albeit streaky – scorer. Ellis is a guy that Howard has claimed he’d like to play with, and the two years and $22 million that remain on his contract are certainly affordable by today’s NBA standards. The problem for Orlando would be enticing the Warriors to part with the best player on their roster, after all the Magic aren’t exactly flush with intriguing young talent. In fact, a Golden State source told The Oakland Tribune that the team wouldn’t trade Ellis unless it got an All-Star (or someone of that caliber) in ...

Magic C Howard cool to idea of playing in Chicago

Scratch the Chicago Bulls as a possible landing spot for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard. During a visit to Chicago to play the Bulls on Thursday, the Magic center was not receptive to the idea of playing in the Windy City. “Nah, it’s pretty cold here,” Howard said. Howard, who can become an unrestricted free agent after the season, has asked the team to trade him. If...

Dwight Howard Monster Dunk Over Joakim Noah

Dwight Howard lived up to his nickname “Superman” last night as he caught a sick alley-oop from Jameer Nelson. The dunk was even more important seeing that it tied the game at 90 a piece with two minutes left in regulation. The Magic would go on to win the game 99-94. Howard finished with 29 points, 18 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Not a bad day at the office. It never hurts to see...

Derrick Rose says he’s ‘sick and tired’ of hearing Dwight Howard trade rumors

The March 15 NBA trade deadline can’t come soon enough. Once it passes, we will be able to stop speculating about Dwight Howard — at least until the offseason. Until then, we will continue to hear rumors about Howard being traded to the Lakers, Bulls, Nets, and others. One player who will be happy when the dust settles is Derrick Rose, who openly admitted on Thursday that he’s...

Magic 99, Bulls 94

Dwight Howard had 29 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic to a 99-94 win over the Bulls on Thursday, snapping Chicago's eight-game winning streak. Chicago twice overcame double-digit deficits and led 91-89 with 2:56 to play after Derrick Rose passed to Carlos Boozer for a jumper. Orlando responded with an 8-1 run started by Jameer Nelson's lob to Howard for...

Day 75 of 124: Two Stunning Upsets

If you’re a Bulls fan (AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast) The Suns pulled off a win against the Mavericks and not quite as surprisingly, the Magic beat the Bulls. Given Dwight Howard’s performance, and those from the Bulls, it’s pretty obvious why the Bulls couldn’t pull it out. It’s not quite as intuitive when looking at the Mavericks box score, but they did start Ian Mahinmi...

Orlando’s Pick-And-Roll Dooms Toronto

With Amir Johnson unable to suit up tonight due to a knee injury, the Raptors were in a tough spot as they tried to battle Dwight Howard while shorthanded in their front court. Heck, even when Toronto’s at full strength battling the behemoth, or, as Dwane Casey affectionately called him, “Monster,” it’s a tough enough proposition. Things went about as expected as Howard exploded...
