via Ben Golliver - The Point Forward   With the news coming out that the NBA is debating on having player’s nicknames added to the back of the jersey for a game or two between the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets, we decided to give you the officially unofficial list of nicknames for these two juggernaut teams.  The NBA has asked each member of the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets to submit their nicknames to the league office.  It has not been confirmed by the league but the consensus is that their plan is to feature a game with nicknames on the back. "It shows growth in our league and it shows we do adapt to what's going on around us," said Allen, the Heat guard who plans to wear Shuttlesworth on his jersey, a nod to his character from the "He Got Game" film. "And we're still kids, playing a kids' game. Even though we're now men playing a kids' game, we still remember where we come from. Everybody had a nickn...

Unless you happen to be part of the Louisville Zoo organization, I’m going to take a guess that you didn’t know that one of their newest animal additions was named, “LeBron James”. The Zoo’s new jaguar got his name from the famous Miami Heat hoopster thanks to the location of where he was born: LeBron the jaguar is four years old and came to Louisville from the Brevard...

D-Wade and Durant were E-beefing

Whenever Sports Illustrated releases its annual list of the Top 100 NBA players it sparks a debate.  Everyone from NBA analysts, bloggers to barbershops and corner boys attempt to poke holes in the rational behind a subjective list that supposedly defines the NBA’s top players. As such, it’s no surprise that NBA players have their own thoughts on the Top 100 list. After all...

Jason Kidd: Nets were too 'vanilla' last season

Jason Kidd sounded more like a Ben & Jerry's taste-tester than the Brooklyn Nets new head coach on Tuesday. The first year coach set a goal yesterday to change the Nets' identity, from the bland tasting squad which fell flat last last season to a more flavorful blend of competitors.  Kidd understands that GM Billy King did most of the prep work already — acquiring...

Wade, Durant argue over rankings

Dwyane Wade and Kevin Durant are getting a little 1-on-1 in before the season starts. Well, on Twitter, anyway. Durant told CineSport in a video interview that he believes his former Oklahoma City teammate James Harden should be considered one of the top 10 players in the NBA, and Wade -- a three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat -- should not. So Wade responded by posting...

Erik Spoelstra turned down lucrative offers for speaking engagements this offseason and focused his attention on continuing the run of titles with the Miami Heat. Spoelstra spent time studying the techniques of football coaches Chip Kelly and Pete Carroll. Spoelstra studied previously how Kelly's spread offense could be applied to basketball.

Nets and Heat to Wear Nicknames on Back of Jerseys

How often do you call LeBron “King James”? How often do you call Paul Pierce “The Truth”? When was the last time you watched Kevin Garnett play and didn’t refer to him as “KG” at least once? If you’re anything like me, you’ve always called certain players by their nicknames. But the thing is, it was always just that. A nickname. Reportedly though, it could now be...

Miami Heat To Use Nicknames On Jerseys?

Each NBA team has a few jersey rotations that they wear each season. Typically, they have a home, road, and maybe a few alternate jerseys. This season, Miami is considering using nicknames on the back of their jerseys. Of course, the NBA must approve any changes to jerseys before any implementations take place. My guess [...]

Skip Bayless is at it again. As you all may know by now Skip is from Oklahoma City and claims to be Kevin Durant’s biggest fan.
