Los Angeles Clippers
The Brooklyn Nets have formally expressed interest in acquiring Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce from the Boston Celtics. The possible package from New Jersey would include Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Tomike Shenglia, and three first-round picks according to Yahoo! Sports. Under his current contract, Kevin Garnett would have to waive his no-trade clause from the Celtics before he could be traded to any team. Paul Pierce has been rumored to be moving, bought out, and in trade talks since former Celtics head coach Doc Rivers expressed interest in coaching the Los Angeles Clippers. Garnett will be going into his 19th season, and may only have a year or two left. Pierce will be heading into his 16th season.
Honestly, I don’t really see this benefiting the Nets in the long run. The pieces they are giving up are not something they are going to have nightmares over. The last time I checked, the Nets were no where near being considered an elite team in the Eastern Conference. The only at...

Doc Rivers‘ decision to leave the Boston Celtics is a little easier to understand now.
While addressing reporters during Thursday’s NBA draft, the new head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers was asked to react to the news that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, two star players he had grown close to during his time as coach of the Celtics, had been traded to the Brooklyn Nets. While...
The Nets may not have gotten far when it came to Doc Rivers taking over their bench, but that won’t keep them from trying for the next best thing from the Celtics.
The New York Daily News reports that Nets general manager Billy King has asked the Celtics about acquiring Kevin Garnett. While Garnett has a no-trade clause that he has previously said he would not waive, Rivers’...

Let’s forget about Kevin Garnett for a second. Had he (and he most certainly will) retired with ay other team other than the Boston Celtics, it would have been okay. As much as Garnett has become a part of Celtics lore and has embodied what it means to be a Celtic, he was never originally a Celtic. He came to help Paul Pierce win a title, just like Ray Allen did.

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry are already on their way
to Brooklyn, and a fourth former Celtic may find a home in the
borough this offseason, as well.
When Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce going to the Clippers was still a possibility, there were jokes about the Clippers becoming the West Coast Celtics. It turns out they still will be, just not on the court.
The Clippers’ bench will look at lot like the Celtics’ bench of the last few years, as Doc Rivers plans to bring most of his assistant coaches with him to Los Angeles. Kevin...
The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Anthony Bennett with the first pick in the NBA Draft, solidifying their post presence to match the Kyrie Irving/Dion Waiters backcourt. They passed on the big men Alex Len and Nerlens Noel, whom the Cavaliers were expected to pick.
That was not the biggest surprise of the night. Not by far.

Well, it’s over. An end of an era.One of the hardest things to go through as a sports fan is watching your favorite player retire. A guy you grow up watching and idolizing. You’d go to the driveway after dinner and pretend you were him. You’d create fake scenarios of winning the championship on a buzzer-beating three. You buy their jerseys and wear them to school to see the...
Yesterday, Colin Cowherd did something that hasn’t happened in a while. He took time to discuss the Cleveland Cavaliers. Obviously the Cavaliers have not been as prominent nationally since LeBron James took his talents to South Beach, but with another number-one overall pick they have been thrust back into the forefront of basketball news. Cowherd [...]
