Found April 09, 2012 on Wizards Extreme:

With this lockout-abbreviated season, the Wizards have not had the gift (or curse) of playing every team in the NBA. Unfortunately, it has made playing the Eastern Conference teams that much more painful.

The New Jersey Nets have been one of the teams that have been an embarrassment from (literally) the first game of the season. Losing two of the three matchups versus the Nets this season, Deron Williams and company (who have had a pretty horrendous season themselves,) have found ways to exploit the Washington offense and defense all season.

The series with the Nets, more specifically the first one (which was the first game of the season for both teams) foreshadowed how much of a problem closing out games would be for the Wizards.

There are two more teams on the schedule who the Wizards have had a poor series with, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bulls. The Bucks have taken all three games against the Wizards, so far, and have provided the home for one of the most embarrassing moments of the season when Flip Saunders forgot to put Roger Mason, Jr. on the active players list. Only one of those three meetings were close, so it's going to be a relief when this series is over.

Last but not least, the Chicago Bulls have given the Wizards hell this season, as well. The Bulls have taken both games against the Wizards this season and, like the Bucks, gave the Wizards an embarrassing highlight of their season when the Wizards could only muster up a total of 64 points against them back in January.

The Wizards have ten games left in this season, and as a fan, I've got to admit I've finally become exhausted. After the lockout, I promised myself to never take the NBA for granted again, more specifically the Wizards; but after a stretch of 12 losses in 14 games, I'm just starting to count down the days until the regular season is over.

I probably shouldn't admit that, but it's got to be on everyone's mind. This team is just depleted, exhausted, and restless. And honestly, the fans are, too.

James Singleton with a powerful put-back jam

The Washington Wizards swingman, James Singleton cleans up a missed shot with a thunderous put-pack slam during the 2nd quarter of Monday night’s matchup between the Washington Wizards and the Charlotte Bobcats The game may not have playoff implications, but my oh my can this young man throw it down with some power!

Nets owner planning to 'crush' Mark Cuban in kickboxing

Net owner Mikhail Prokhorov is serious about keeping New Jersey star Deron Williams with the Nets after this year. So serious, in fact, that he's started talking smack to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, the New York Daily News reports. "Let the best man win," Prokhorov said Tuesday. "If he wins, I will crush him with the kickboxing throwdown." Cuban and his deep...

John Wall with the alley-oop to Jan Vesely

This slick connection from second-year point-guard, John Wall, to first-year power-forward, Jan Vesely, came with just about four minutes to go in the first quarter. John Wall sure makes the art of passing look easy.

After fast start, Magic falter in loss to Wizards

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Kevin Seraphin took advantage of Dwight Howard's absence from Orlando's lineup, getting career highs of 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Washington Wizards to a 93-85 victory over the Magic on Tuesday night. Jordan Crawford scored 21 points, John Wall had 15 and Cartier Martin and James Singleton -- both on 10-day contracts with the Wizards -- added...

POTD 4/9/12: Jan Vesely on Bismack Biyombo

Journeyman forward James Singleton has been a Clipper and a Wizard.  In other words, he knows what it’s like to lose basketball games.  When made aware of Charlotte’s abysmal record, even he was taken aback. “I looked at the board and saw 7-47 and I was like, ‘Errrr,’” said Singleton, via The Washington Post. Errrr. Errrr. Dunk rating on the Starbury Nastiness Scale...

Tank the Season? Not So Fast

For those wondering whether or not the Wizards will try to tank the rest of the season for a higher draft pick, wonder no more. The Wizards pretty much summed up how they felt about that idea last night after they manhandled the Charlotte Bobcats by nearly 30 points and improved to 3-0 in their season series against the NBA’s worst team. In a not-so-marquee game featuring the...

Prokhorov Won’t Let Williams Go Without a Fight

Deron Williams, the point guard for the New Jersey Nets, is a free agent following this season, and is rumored to be interested in his hometown Dallas Mavericks. Speaking in front of the Barclays Center construction site on Tuesday — the first time he has addressed the media since last January, when he called off the trade negotiations for Carmelo Anthony — New Jersey Nets owner...

Did Deron Williams Tip His Hand?

New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams will be a free agent following this season. Most people feel that the Nets’ only shot at re-signing Williams dissipated when Orlando Magic center, Dwight Howard, opted to stay with the Magic next season. The Nets’ master plan was to acquire Howard and team him with Williams to build the franchise around the premier point guard and...

Prokhorov meets Williams, believes Nets will win

New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has met with Deron Williams to discuss his future with the NBA team, but the Russian tycoon refused to say whether the All-Star guard gave any indication whether he would opt out of his contract after this season. Prokhorov said both men have a tremendous desire to win which is something the Nets did not do enough this season. They are on...

The bottom feeders of the Eastern Conference have an opportunity to end losing streaks at the other's expense Monday night at Charlotte. To put the 19 combined wins...

Mikhail Prokhorov says he’ll crush Mark Cuban in kickboxing over Deron Williams

Mikhail Prokhorov spoke to the media Tuesday at the construction site of the Barclays Center which will be the Nets’ new home in Brooklyn. Prokhorov has been somewhat of a mystery man since buying the team two years ago. Although he was initially vocal and present for some Nets games, he was consumed with running for presidency in Russia and became an absent figure. Luckily for...
