Found March 13, 2012 on Project Spurs:
With the writing on the wall the Bobcats' Boris Diaw will be on his way out of Charlotte soon, one thing is for sure, San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker wouldn't mind seeing Diaw wearing a Spurs uniform. Parker on his radio show, The TP Show, said he would like to see his fellow countryman join San Antonio (via "Tony Parker indicated Monday night in his TP Show in RMC he'd like to see Boris Diaw joining him in San Antonio. 'He's in shape. I'm the first to make fun of him when he gains too much weight but right now it's not the case. We're very interested to get him but New York is interested too. We'll see'." Seeing how New York is spiraling right now, I highly doubt Diaw would want to go to a losing franchise especially playing for the lowly Bobcats. The Spurs, however, are sitting atop the Southwest Division and hold the second best record in the Western Conference. Add the fact he and Parker have played together for France, it would seem like an easier transition for Diaw. Project Spurs' Trevor Zickgraf put in his vote to add Diaw to the squad and pointed out he is a very productive player. First, he can score from a couple different places on the court.  According to the Stats Cube, Diaw is shooting 53 percent in the restricted area and 43 percent from mid-range.  33 percent of Diaw's scoring comes in the restricted area, 13 percent comes from inside the paint but outside the restricted zone, 22 percent comes from the mid-range and 30 percent comes from non-corner 3's.  So he shoots from all over, though he probably shouldn't be taking two and a half threes a game.  His defensive rebounding rate is 17 percent (meaning he collects 17 percent of available rebounds) would be good enough for second on the Spurs.  Also, according to Synergy Sports, Diaw ranks 23rd in the league in defending the roll man in the pick and roll.  So there's three areas he'd help the Spurs in. OK so TP says he would like to see Diaw in San Antonio but what do you have to say Spurs fans? Do you agree with Parker or not?

Nets Looking To Create $6.5M In Cap Space With Diaw Trade

The Nets and Bobcats have had trade talks on a deal that would send the expiring contract of Boris Diaw to New Jersey for several players and a first round pick.

Spurs' Parker still feels he has room to improve

San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker is having an amazing season. I’d like to call it an MVP season because he’s definitely putting up the numbers (20.1 points, and 8 assists per game) for it, but I think the odds of Parker winning the MVP trophy are slim to none. Of course, that’s not for his lack of ability but more because of the competition he’s going up against, but we...

Parker lists his toughest defensive assignments

A lot of times you get absolutely nothing from players on Twitter.  San Antonio Spurs fans don't need to look any further than DeJuan Blair's twitter account if you need proof of that. But every once in a while you do get some insight in to what a player is thinking, who he likes to play against, etc.  A few days ago, Spurs guard Tony Parker was asked who the toughest point...

Before Wednesday night's home game against the Orlando Magic, the NBA was buzzing with Dwight Howard trade rumors, reports that he would and wouldn't sign his early termination option. Magic coach Stan Van Gundy and Howard deflected or denied answering any questions regarding the trade deadline to the scrum of media in the visiting locker room. But in the Spurs' locker...

Parker returns, leads Spurs to victory over Wizards

Wall (12 points) was right, the Spurs outscored the Wizards 63-49 in the first half, as the Wizards allowed the Spurs to...

Parker scores 31 in Spurs' home win over Magic

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Dwight Howard lost perhaps his last game with the Orlando Magic, declaring before a 122-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night that he won't surrender his right to become a free agent this summer. Howard had 22 points and 12 rebounds on the eve of the NBA trade deadline, and his refusal to give the Magic the ultimate assurance he'll be back...

Wizards-Spurs Preview

Since wrapping up one of the best road trips in NBA history, the San Antonio Spurs have struggled at the AT&T Center. Trade deadline passes with no Celtics moves

Next up is the buyout watch. Chris Kaman is the big fish. The Celtics, Heat, and Spurs seem to have the best shot at signing him. Boris Diaw is another possibility. Are you happy with the Celtics standing pat?
